Bulletpoint
Not sure if I understand your idea. If you want a grid for the terrain, there is a mod for that. Edited March 18, 2015 by Bulletpoint

Parker Schnabel
Thanks, as a player since CMx1 one probably needs suggestions where to find a mod. A grid overlay is only needed during the turn phase, not permanently like a mod during playback. Since a toggable grid overlay for the terrain is an old and often wished feature among PBEM-players and it is argued it was technically not possible, I wanted to share my idea to use thrown shadows as grid. poesel
So during a night battle you can turn on the sun, target your enemies and turn it off again before they can shoot back. I guess that qualifies 100% as 'Wunderwaffe'! Interesting idea but I really doubt it would work. Messing with the time in the game is probably not trivial and I also doubt the engine has provisions for anything being in the air and creating a shadow. If that would be possible I guess we would have seen plane shadows long ago.
