John Kettler
Listverse recently asserted Davy Crockett didn't die in combat at the Alamo; that he was instead captured subsequently and executed at the orders of Mexican General Santa Ana. http://listverse.com/2014/09/24/10-deaths-that-might-not-have-happened-the-way-you-think/ Be that as it may, here is a most interesting academic discourse on the evidence as to how Davy Crockett most likely died and the evidence in support of that case. The linked article presents the case he wasn't executed and that the sources claiming he was are untrustworthy, not contemporary and are contaminated by later information. At the bottom of that article is the link to the telling reply and some subsequent discussion. http://www.tamu.edu/faculty/ccbn/dewitt/adp/archives/delapena/lind_crisp/lind.html Regards, John Kettler
jon_j_rambo
I saw the first and second Alamo movies. Davy Crockett died in the fort in both of them. Accept it.
Michael Emrys
I saw the first and second Alamo movies. Davy Crockett died in the fort in both of them. Accept it. I do hope you are writing tongue in cheek and do not really gain your knowledge of history from semi-fictional movies. Michael
Stalins Organ
Of course he didn't die at the Alamo - he made 2 more 1 hour TV programmes after that!!
