Out of curiosity, care to share what the latest WW1 games are that you are referring to?
Wodin
I'd say if you looking for a deep complex WW1 Grand Start game that really gets it right with regards to it's mechanics then look no further than WW1Gold. However if your looking for something easier to learn hard to master and still do a good simulation of the period\War then go for his game. Still ahead of the others. (Though I've only played the demo as I've never had the money for it really and when I do it's been going on Combat Mission also my views are going by AAR's and feature sets. One of these days I will buy it. Or may wait until SC3 WW1)) Next would be the recent End all Wars. Which struggles with historical accuracy and trench warfare..plus seems lacking for some reason. Great combat mechanics though. Then for pure easy fun Commander WW1.
vonRocko
Ageods To End all Wars. Commander WW1 These two are the latest. Strategic Command has the best AI of the bunch. I do agree with Wodin however, WW1 Gold is great when it works. To bad slitherine is fighting the company that fixed it. Something slitherine was to lazy to do. To me the others feel like games set in WW1, while SCWW1 is a game about WW1.if you know what I mean.
