Sequoia
The grass Mod thread on the Afrika Korps board leads me to ask if anyone can recommend a grass mod for wintertime when there is no snow but the grass is dead/dormant and brown?
junk2drive
imo, just as in cmak, sdog's cmbo grass at cmhq.
junk2drive
i reread my posts at cmak, the gunnergoz was a nice choice too for cmbo.
Sequoia
Thanks J2. Looks like I've got some large downloads to do tonight.
junk2drive
at least at cmhq the dl speed is usually quick. if you dont use cmmos dont forget that mcmmm will make a new zip for you.
Sequoia
I haven't as yet loaded the cmmos ruleset for terrain. If I do use it, do you know if it lets me revert to my default grass?
junk2drive
if you use a mod manager, you can revert back. that is what mod managers are for. mcmmm is easy to use imo, and does not require the addition text files in the zip or the file extentions on the bmps. cmmos has graphics (the little jpgs in the zip) of your choices before you load them in. mcmmm you can double click the mod after you load it into your uninstalled file, then examine each bmp in the zip. but that doesnt show you the finished picture.
Sequoia
Got the Mod, looks great, exactly what I was hoping for. Thanks J2 and thanks, of course to Strontium Dog.

Sequoia
MCMMM. I have dial up only and didn't want to download another 4 mgs for the CMMOS terrain ruleset after getting the 11 mg terrain Mod.
junk2drive
did you find it easy to use? martin is very good at helping if you have a problem.
Sequoia
Yes, I've been using it already. I have CMMOS too but as far as reverting to the original bmps I only remember seeing one button on the cmmos cmbb section for battlefront defaults and thought that if I hit that, *all* my mods would revert. I probably need to look at it more closely. edit: on cmmos cmbo I don't remember seeing a revert button. Like i said, I'll look closer. junk2drive
iirc you pick the default instead of one of the mods to go back to original.
Philippe
I don't know how the version of cmmos that you can find on cmmods is set up, but in the original 4.03 over at cmhq there are buttons in Winter Wonderland (the snow terrain) and Field and Stream (everything else) for saving several personal favorite set-ups. When I wrote the program instructions I realized that after a while people tend to forget exactly what went into their favorite set-up, so they needed to be able to save and then restore it, without knowing exactly what "it" is.
junk2drive
ed's light and dirty doesnt look good in cmak. gunnergoz real grass looks real muddy. i checked a cmak map that is level 1-19. real low or real high, not so good. depends on the map maker. dark green and brown, would be good for spring summer rain soaked battle.
junk2drive
back again desert fox grass, light and medium green, with a slight tan to it. spring new growth? rain soaked darker areas? not the 3d texture of some mods. osf for cmbb grass has good 3d but may be too tan at lower elevations for what you are looking for.
