Simple question

Recommended Posts

There is a scenario editor that will allow you to create your own scenarios, or campaigns.

As to your second questions, for the most part, yes. CM has always (since the release of CMBO ~12 years ago) included a final victory tally that recounts exactly how many casualties each side sustained, how many armored vehicles, how many other vehicles, etc.

However, the "final score" game screen doesn't tell you exactly what the losses were. For example, the final screen might say you lost 4 armored vehicles. It doesn't say that you lost 2 PzIVs and 2 Panthers. Nor does it tell you that you lost 4 commissioned officers and 30 enlisted men, just that you sustained 34 casualties. To discover more detailed information, you have to look at the end-of-game map, from which you can determine all the details of which units are still alive, and which have been damaged, injured, or destroyed.

... and, by clicking on each unit (friendly and enemy) you can see exactly what each killed/destroyed.

No, that wouldn't be safe to say.

Combat Mission : Battle for Normandy has the vast majority of relevant US units and vehicles, applicable to Normandy 1944. It also has the majority of German Army units and vehicles for that same timeframe.

Combat Mission : Battle for Normandy : Commonwealth Forces has the vast majority of relevant UK, Canadian and Polish units and vehicles, applicable to Normandy 1944. It also has the majority of German SS and luftwaffe (but NOT Fallschirmjager) units and vehicles for that same timeframe.

Future modules of the CMBN family will ultimately see the vast majority of relevant Allied and German units and vehicles that fought in the campaign in northwest Europe, in the time period from June through to September.

Combat Mission : Fortesss Italy has the vast majority of relevant US units and vehicles, applicable to Sicily in July and August 1943. It also has the majority of German and Italian units and vehicles for that same timeframe that fought against the US.

Future modules of the CMFI family will, as I understand it (although this is a bit hazy) ultimately see the vast majority of relevant Allied and German units and vehicles that fought in Sicily and Italy, from 1943 to 1945.

Other families will see the same approach to the Battle of the Bulge (and 1945?) in Western Europe, and the Russian Front, at approximately one year per family. And, in addition, other time periods, including a speculative Russian vs NATO war in modern Ukraine.

Ultimately (assuming the heat death of the universe doesn't occur first) the entire portfolio of BFC game families may well include pretty much everything from the European 1939-45 war, but not in a single game.
