My friend started a GOLD 1.01 multiplayer game and he emailed me the file and I cannot load it. It says FILE READ ERROR on the game selection screen when I go to choose it. The error message usually means that either the file was created in a different game, i.e. the base game rather than in the Gold edition, or that they're using a different patch to you. Strategiclayabout Posted June 9, 2012 Share Posted June 9, 2012 Hello Pvthudson ^^ , - I have this error from time to time and so far it's just a corrupt download from mail to PC. - It tends to happen more with unarchived saved turns or when you close the download/transfer window too soon. - So try to get back the saved turn from your friend's mail, minimize the transfer window instead of closing it and load your turn, it will probably solve your problem .
