unkabin
Hi, a quick question from someone new to CMBN. Can jeeps and/or armored cars drive on railroad tracks? I'm looking at a map with a RR bridge that I'd love to send some vehicles over, but I'm not sure if I can. Thanks in advance for your help.
dpabrams
Yes they can, just make sure there are no trains on the track at the time. I lost a Pz IV to a locomotive once.
dieseltaylor
I have not tried it but I supsect it will be slow progress and possibly wheel damage. But I don't know. Please advise how it turns out. : )

YankeeDog
I've driven armored cars and jeeps on railroad tracks before -- Yes, they can do it, but the tracks definitely slow them down. Not sure if there is any progressive damage to wheels/tracks when you do this. I drove 3 armored cars + 3 jeeps down a short length of track and across a rail bridge and none of them were immobilized. But I don't remember if any of them showed any degradation to the wheels. At any rate, if there is any damage, it's certainly not something to be overly concerned about for short distances.

duckEfuzz
Just dont expect to get anywhere fast whilst on the tracks. It is the longest minute of your life when you've planned a bad route in PBEM and you sit there watching your vehicles being overtaken by your infantry!
