What do the black boxes on map reperesent?

Title says it all, i am playing Carbon Carbide and there are black boxes in many places. I assumed they were minefields, but aren't minefields supposed to be invisible till you find them? It is really strange and when I bring engineers near them I get the marking block but it is grayed out. Can anyone post what a minefield that is found looks like?

I think its the black box glitch. I think you need to reinstall the game in some sort of propper order. Atleast thats what it was like in Shock Force

really? It only happens on certain maps. Have to reinstall the scenario and see if thats what it is

After running the same scenario on my laptop, those boxes are supposed to be craters? I guess something in my graphics is screwed up, and i will have to reload the tiles for the maps

I have never seen any black boxes. It must be a graphics glitch of some kind.

Carbide Carbide is a huge map and eats a lot of memory. The first few times I tried to load it, I got various graphical glitches (such as the whole sky being one huge stretched texture of the wrong type). My video card has 1 GB.

I discovered that I could easily play the scenario with no glitches if I exited CMBN then restarted it. This seems to clear memory.
