  1. Thanks for the feedback mate. The close ups are, amongst other things, meant to add to the confusion and disorientation of battle. Though this video was part of a larger one with an actual narrative following and clarifying the flow of battle I decided to just put the highlights which, I admit, does make following putting the scenes in context rather difficult. If I had put the whole of the batle on video, it would have been easier to follow and contextualise (...eh... is that a word?) but it would have been two hours long. I like my videos and think they are quite good.... but not so good that I'd expect anyone to sit through my version of Saving Private Ryan. Ha Ha, Incidentally, in the actual battle, I got my arse kicked from one end of the scenario to the other... nothing new there. .... . And that final sequence is how the battle ended... me running for the hills... my usual battle plan... works like a dream every time.... for the the enemy...
  2. Yeah. I was worried that I'd overdone it a bit, Hopefully it's in keeping with the piece and it helps o get some emotional connection with what those poor men went through.
  3. This is a little movie with lots of action in it. No story with it but originally it was turning into a little film. When i got too an hour and a half of footage I suddenly remembered I'm not Spielberg and just put the highlights in instead
  4. Yay! Thanks Ian! I was utterly baffled as to how you do it. I've done it before so no idea why I couldn't repeat the process now other than being a bit dim

  7. Really good effort mate. I love to see people making movies. If as you say you are going to make another one, then I think Vinnart has a point with his comment. It's hard to resist those long, lingering shots of vehicles moving... I know because I've done it myself but generally they aren't the really interesting subject matter. Combat Mission is such a wonderful game with plenty of eye candy and shots of vehicles moving are scenes in which the action is waiting to unfold. It's just a suggestion but I would unfold it quicker unless you're telling a story and want to give the viewer an emotional connection to the characters. I find that the closer you are to the action the more intense it is. Maybe you could try some serious zooming with the camera. It may be that the further you are away from the action the further away the viewer is, maybe?. Anyway, just a couple of suggestions to back up what Vinnart said but most of... keep at it with the movie making
  8. Thanks. I just looked at it again myself and think there are some really good little scenes in there... ... patting myself on the back . I think the vids get a little lostin the theatre sections with everything else. Might be a good idea to just have a forum thingy that is for vids which are a little bit more story based? I'm working on another one which is HUGE . I might stick them all together when I finish it. Who knows .
  9. Yes, it's true! .. but only when she shells sea shores... in preparation for an amphibious landing
  10. Thanks for watching. Doing these movies really adds to my enjoyment of what is already a brilliant series of games.
  11. Thanks. I found this was really interesting with the voice over instead of a storyline like the others. Oddly enough, (at least I think so) I found myself worrying about it being too graphic when the black strip over the eyes of the dead soldier was added. The mind is a funny thing, eh? Thanks again for watching Kip.
  12. Thank you. Both of you. Wish I could devote more time to doing these little videos as i enjoy doing them so much. The feedback is the icing on the cake. I was working on one for Normandy but managed to delete the last third.....ARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH .... I might put the truncated version up at some point... just as soon as I stop banging my head on the desk
  13. Hey Kip! I don't mind waiting on praise. Thanks for watching. They're a pleasure to make... mostly ..
  14. Thanks for watching. I love making these little movies when I get the time, and the low down 'shots' for me are really immersive. I've used the same technique with the other little videos I've done on you tube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCErJUMogz9-Hjj3zJdJ1XOw ... eh... that may have been a plug
  15. Thanks for watching. It's a great little scenario to play isn't it. Especially when you get down in amongst the action and like you say, very intense. I think you can miss the real meat of the CM games by not getting right in there and having a good look round. That's one of the reason I really enjoy making the videos. Great idea. All I lack now is the time to do it at the moment. Just on my way back to another long night shift.... Zzzzzzz Oh well. it pays the bills but gets int he way of me refighting ww2 Need to keep this in mind. Think you mentioned it before but I forgot. Will try and do uploads in the futue with and wothout the music.
  16. Lazy? You think you're lazy? My dog is so lazy he wont even bark. He just waits until the dog next door barks and then he just nods in agreement. You made my evening with your comment. Thanks Kevin. Hope you enjoy it
  17. I think there is a mod out there for removing the crosses but I can't remember if it works for all the modules. I find the transparency so annoying I even tried to video the house before anyone entered and then superimposed that upon the transparent shot in the video. It works...sort of, but is too time consuming. I'm not lazy. No. I just put a lot of effort into looking that way
  18. I think I would get canned at Cannes ....and you're so right. The transparency thing makes no sense to me. I wish there was an option to get rid of it from a video making point of view and a playing one too. it would be cool seeing the men through the windows rather than the whole damn thing disappear.
