  1. Wow those tanks have a lot of Schreck shields on theire backs...*hust*
  2. Well a Panther is also the cheapest option to take out russian heavy armor like IS 1 IS 2 etc... The problem with schrecks is, that you would have to get within 150m of the russian armor, and thus would have to surpress all covering russian infantrie. It's possible, especialy in the woods and town, but not easy. Elvis should defnitley bring some schreks but, not as primary at weapon.
  3. @ Vanir: Well, sure we could make recommendations for a most powerfull force to fight on this map, but I belive this is not the purpose of this battle. We want to see new stuff in action. Heavy Infantrie is also hard to pull of as I imagine that Bill could bring a lot more Infantrie, with perhaps more shortrange firepower. Too much Infantrie and you will get pretty immobile which could be the downfall of your defence on such a large map. @lurrp: nice list and I see the concept but, imho a fixed defencive position on this map vs Bill is more or less suicide and could turn out similiar to the Fortress Italy AAR where he played Germans with an Elephant vs US. He is just the King of scouting and taking out fixed positions. If possible try to lure him into a trap and counter attack where he doesn't suspect it. Edit: as u guys posted while I was writing. I can't agree on TRPs and AT guns. To be successfull your oponent has to do what you expect him to do, and you have to catch him by surprise. imho If you have room to maneuver, than u should use it. This gives you more flexibility over all. I think c3k has a good aproach.... attack!
  4. Well, yes you are absolutley correct. My statement was just to blunt and didn't deliver what I meant. What I wouldn't like is, that my oponent analysis the map and choose his units specific for every hill, corner etc.. As I now reread sfhands post, I recognice he didn't meant that. So, well I'm sorry for the confusion. I like your composition and I think It'll be nice to see these toys in action. And for the prurpose of a BETA AAR imho it's realy good as it shows a lot of diffrent things (flame thrower tanks, IL2, tank riders, smg companies, ISUs, t34/85, supply trucks) and is still a balanced and capable force. So good luck. And perhabs don't analys your moves as much as normal so that your enemy has a chance ^^.
  5. I hope in this case duoble post is okay. I don't like the Idea of selecting forces for specific battle fields. It just seems realy gamey to me.
  6. As a friend of mine has Problems getting his Password. I'll copy his Post and paste it. should this happen again I will mention it at the beginning of the post. Jishmael: "Here are my 2 Cents, being a long time lurker, first time poster. I'm not really too keen on the ISU-122. You're bringing a fixed gun tank destroyer with horrible armor sloping to an offensive engagement. Why not take an IS-2 if you can somehow afford it? A its Armor is better B it has a Turret which will probably help with all that cityfighting C it brings good MG firepower D It would add another new Unit to show and is also very iconic. For the T34: I wish I could remember the Performance Values for the Russian 76mm Tank Gun. I can only say that in CMBB I generally preferred the T34/85, but that might have been psychological. Still I think it might be worth considering. Las thing: After looking at the topdown map for a while I feel like this might be a very very tough map for so many vehicles, getting into a long range Engagement with possibly paks on your left flank feels scary. Driving through all that Forest with Shreks abound feels scary. But I'd look forward to seeing you pull that off. In any case very excited about this AAR!"
  7. Wow that is cool. And for this battle Elvis can save points if he wants to bring some CAS More mg 42 and flamethrowers
  8. It's there, and half the suggested elements are new...
  9. I picked the FO for the stukas, caus IIRC only Russian planes are freed from them correct? Otherwise you don't need him, imho. I wouldn't recommend mines. They aren't cheap, and you get to few to close down areas and can't garantie any effect on this map. But just my opinion, do what you like and feel comfortable with. Perhabs u can smuggle in a Nashorn for a Hetzer? But I wouldn't sacrefice your Panther for it. I belive you need one reliable and strong base. In my suggestion it's the Panther.
  10. Well I would like to see soemthing like this: I think I'm within your setup requirments '( 2500 Points 1 AAA 1Flamethrower) 1 Forward Observer 2 Ju 87 G Strafe 1 Panther G HQ 2 Hetzer (Perhaps just 1 for more infantry) 1 Straggler groupe 1 Company (-) with attached Flamethower 2 20mm Quads on truck. In a formation like this we have a lot of the new toys, and it is more or less mobile. The Ju 87 Gs seem to be pretty cheap, and perhabs those 37mm could immobelize some of your opnonents mobile assets early. All heavy guns have wheels so you should be able to switch positions relativley easy. Well Panther or not... you are fighting Bill I think a Panther is okay ^^ The weakpoint would be your infantry, but I think a lot of us are curiose about these straggler formations. PS: I apologize for my bad spelling and grammar.
  11. Hi, well I think my campaign is bugged. The same problem I had in mission 4 now reappeared in mission 8. I don't get points for exiting the map. Is this working as intended? If so you couldn't afford any losses in that mission at all. I could get a maximum of 200 Points in that mission. 100 for <10% casualties and 100 points for good condition. While the Germans get points for Casualties inflicted. If this is a bug does anyone know a workaround. Or do I will have to play this missions perfectly? I know I'm not as good as a lot of the people here but I finished that Mission with taking 25% Casulties had good condition, the Germans surrendered and I had 20 minutes left on the clock. For me that sounds like a good break through. The score says it's a draw. 100 vs 130 Points hm... just let me know if this working as Intended please. thx. And again after playing another 4 Missions those were great too. I had a lot of fun. thx for the good work.
  12. Hi, I just finished the fourth mission the check at hoek and got a draw because of an missdirection in the briefing. the briefing told me that my primary objective is to exit my forces. secondary would be to destroy enemy units and deny some territory. As I didn't saw a way to manage both objectives without taking a lot of casulties and deplet a lot of ammonition I decidet to go around a lot of the defences and exit my force with as few casulties as possible. Well the end was. I got only points for the condition and (if fullfilt) the casulty rate of my exiting troops, but NOT for my troops exiting the map an though fullfilling the primary objective. If I would have gotten the points I would have had double as many and easely won the mission. Well not much that could be done know but, perhabs there is a fix possible (either for the briefing or the mission) in the next patch or so. And for those lucky reading this before playing the campaigne: Mission 4 destroy the germans ^^ Another topic. I only played 4 missions, but those were all great. I know it will get harder and perhabs there will be a point where i just don't want to fight an unfair fight but till now everything was great. And I love your AI plans. the movment of German troops seems realistic and they counter my moves and shift positions. That is just great. Well done Sir! So thanks for the good work and perhabs fix that briefing. (400 points instead of 1000... still mad) :-) PS: Wow I read this forum a lot since i got CM:BN half a year ago and this was my first post. PPS: I want more AARs ^^
