Brilliant !! Downloading now... Thank you.

'This fall' - Are you saying the upgrade could be weeks or months away ???
Very disappointing news for BFC's Mac customers.

The Italian theatre isn't even remembered in New Zealand and it was the only one we fought in! (on the European mainland)

Spotting might take a while. I think it assumes runners...?

I understand the point, but if good quality troops are in close proximity to the enemy, where the firepower would be really handy, occasionally it should happen that one member picks up an SMG from a fallen buddy. Not as often as MG or AT weapons, but depending on the context, the setting shouldn't be 'never'.

Me too I love QB maps, and would happily pay a few bucks for them!

Are you guys short of Mac testers? Because if you need someone to test this patch...

I played these games to death when I was still able to run Mac Classic, but the new systems won't allow that.
Has anyone had any success running these on a new Mac under emulation? I've tried a few PC emulators, like PlayOnMac, Wine and Boxer, as well as an OS9 emulator called ChubbyBunny. Some of them 'almost' run the demo, but none of them actually get all the way.
Has anyone had any success running these games on a Mac??

+ and - on the keypad is not good enough?

The way to avoid all those red casualty icons is to perform prompt buddy aid, which is the historically accurate thing to do - it's fitting that a sim plays best when you do the historical thing.

#1 wish for the first battlepack - QB maps with AI triggers.

I have $20 for BN & FI 3.0 upgrades that I'm just desperate to pay you...

I was pining for the wargames of my youth and searched around until I found them.

Iron mode file sizes are 2-3 times bigger than Elite, so spotting is a big part of it.

Valley of trouble.

Some typical late-war tactical situations to simulate, small scale...(1)(2)(3)(4)(5)(6)
Those sound like very good ideas, but for H2H play the Germans sound too strong in each one, IMO.

The thing I like best about Probe is that parts of each player's setup zone is visible from the other player's setup zone. Leads to some exciting and sometimes hilarious first move action.

Assault is the easiest. Probe is the hardest.

The face command usually works. Otherwise, giving a hunt command to the foxhole makes them take up positions too.

A little off topic. What effect, if any, does wind have on ballistics or bombardments? Apart from laying smoke, of course.
I've seen it have an effect on mortar rounds, and noticed a side-on wind makes it harder for mortars to get on target.

You know what they say - unlucky in Combat Mission, lucky in love

Canister is an awesomely deadly round against infantry. Haven't seen a tank use it in CMRT, but I love it when Stuarts and Greyhounds use it in the other titles. It looks spectacular and makes a mess.

Is there somewhere I can download some of that luck...?
Rockets
in Combat Mission Red Thunder

If you're fighting on a map of a size appropriate to the forces, cheap rockets are not such an issue. Map size makes such a difference and it's only too small a map that makes it a turkey shoot.
