  1. Indeed. You can find his blitz scenarios here: http://www.theblitz.org/profile/The-Teacher/7351 Scroll down at the 'My Scenarios' section.
  2. Greetings gentlemen, It is my pleasure to inform you that Gustav Line is now supported on the CMx2 ladder,at theblitz.org If you're looking for an opponent, you can find one here: http://www.theblitz.org/message_boards/forumdisplay.php?fid=221
  3. You should have a look at the below link,if you're looking for pbem opponents http://www.theblitz.org/message_boards/forumdisplay.php?fid=221&page=1
  4. Me and my opponent are just about to finish 'Fight at Vallebruca'.It seems evenly matched indeed. I'm not sure if my opponent will 100% agree, though,as the battle pretty much went in my favor I guess i'll have to wait to see the other results before finally deciding if it's h2h worthy or not
  5. Actually, yes, there is. These scenarios were nominated for playtest in August: CMBN: The crossroads at Monthardrou CMBN-CW: The bridge at Varaville CMFI: Fight at Vallebruca
  6. Hello Gentlemen, This is a heads-up for those of you interested that the 'Scenario of the month: September' starts today at theblitz.org The scenarios which will be playtested are: CMBN: Le Desert CMBN-CW: CW 18 Platoon CMFI: Gateway to Palermo If you are interested in taking part, please post in the thread below specifying which which scenario(s) you wish to test: http://www.theblitz.org/message_boards/showthread.php?tid=62658 A quick recap. of the rules: 1) Each month 3 scenarios will be nominated, with one scenario coming from each available CMx2 game/module. 2) You can sign-up to playtest any of the monthly scenarios and there is no limit of the number of scenarios you can play. You can sign-up to test one, two, or all three monthly scenarios. 3) Your opponent and the side you'll play on will be randomly decided. 4) The game will count as an on-ladder game and will be reported just like a regular game unless you otherwise agree with your opponent. [the options are: report it as a ladder game, report it as a non-ladder game, don't report it] 5) At the end of each scenario you test, you will be asked to rate how well balanced and entertaining the scenario was. 6) The allied player is the one who will start the setup and send the first turn to his axis opponent. 7) The games are to be played using 'Warrior' as skill level unless otherwise agreed. Some other considerations to know, for those of you less familiarized with the required Blitz etiquette/house rules that will be used. Pre-planned artillery strikes are not allowed if you're the defender, due to the small setup zones. It is however, allowed if you're playing with the attacking side. If you can't play for an extended period of time due to vacations, holidays, real-life issues etc., please let your opponent know about it.

  8. The buildings seem to be darker than it should be,when viewed from distance, with shaders turned on? I noticed the same issue with the old shaders, too, although the new ones seem to have improved things a little. Here's how it looks with my ATI 7850 card with shaders turned on/off
  9. You said it yourself. Tigers can bog or suffer damage. Tigers can be attacked by planes. If you're not careful enough your opponent might sneak some bazookas in your tiger's rear or tow an AT gun in a side ambush position. Having Tigers doesn't guarantee victory, but gives you a very, very nice edge. All in one, having tigers on the battlefield is historically accurate, although it will result in an unbalanced game. Dropping arty on your opponent's setup zone pretty much guarantees you'll win.If i know you'll bombard my setup zone i'll do the same and the game will be over in less than 3 turns with the winner decided by sheer luck. Pre-planned strikes like this aren't historically accurate, because no battalion in real life would start it's attack from a 20x20m zone. Nor would the enemy know the exact moment and the exact place from where the attack would begin.
  10. People don't usually play QBs because they want to play a historical game, they play to 1) have fun 2) win (and not necessarily in this order ) That's the reason why in cmbn, for example, you'll see panthers more often than stugs or Pz IV,although this isn't historically accurate. And this is perfectly fine because on the other side you'll see M10s or Fireflies more often than it would be considered historically accurate. You can't in a QB to simply call the naval guns, because you won't afford it. Nor can you wait to be reinforced with a tank battalion because you'll run out of time and lose. You can't just bypass the tigers because the map is of limited size. This are all artificial limitations which aren't historical, but limitations you'll have to live with At the blitz we have a rule in effect against fire on the setup zone.Sure you can do it,but what fun would it be to play a game where it all comes down to who can afford the bigger guns?
  11. The issue is in a medium QB you won't afford to buy 3 battalions. Not even italian battalions Close assaults against AI might work. I doubt a good human player will not support his Tiger with some infantry,or have a screening infantry force in front. So,probably minus a limited set of circumstances, you won't have your bazookas/assault team get near a tiger. Targeting the setup zones with arty fire is,no doubt, abusive. I wouldn't exactly call purchasing Tigers in QBs abusive, though.
  12. For a medium Qb,with standard rarity, the axis player can afford to purchase exactly 2 Tigers. On the other hand, there is nothing in the american inventory which can directly match them. The best tank the allies have is the 75mm Sherman and you can't destroy a Tiger with it unless you're very, very lucky and you manage to take a shot in it's side/rear at point blank range. You have the 57mm AT gun which has a reasonable chance of scoring a hit if it hits the Tiger in it's side, but if it's a meeting engagement or an american attack it will be pretty much impossible to tow and deploy it in a favorable position for a side shoot. The bazookas will be useless for the same reasons. As i see it the tigers are pretty much invulnerable to everything in the allied inventory and this means we'll see a lot of them in QBs What tactics would you employ to counter the big cats? Or perhaps an agreement between the players that no tigers should be purchased is the best 'counter-measure'?
  13. Attention all CMx2 players: The CMx2 Blitz ladder is about to start up an H2H (head to head) project and you all are invited to participate. The goal is to playtest scenarios in order to determine how well balanced they are for H2H play. The testing will work like this: 1) Each month 3 scenarios will be nominated, with one scenario coming from each available CMx2 game/module. 2) You can sign-up to playtest any of the monthly scenarios and there is no limit of the number of scenarios you can play. You can sign-up to test one, two, or all three monthly scenarios. 3) Your opponent and the side you'll play on will be randomly decided. 4) The game will count as an on-ladder game and will be reported just like a regular game. 5) At the end of each scenario you test, you will be asked to rate how well balanced and entertaining the scenario was. The scenarios for the month of August are: CMBN: The crossroads at Monthardrou CMBN-CW: The bridge at Varaville CMFI: Fight at Vallebruca Please visit http://www.theblitz.org/message_boards/showthread.php?tid=62455 if you wish to signup or just want to know more details about it.
