  1. Pasted an initial test. But this is an issue I still test for. Haven't tried partially destroyed or demolition charge blasted walls yet. The building destroyed here had posters and graffiti but nothing was hanging in the air after mortar and tank fire. The posters are the wall area it is replacing-the computer thinks it's just brick and mortar graphics since it isn't a file separate from the wall -it is a portion of the wall. But like I said I will be looking at this further. What I will do is just confine it to small single story rare buildings-front and back bmp's. Still thinking through how rare and what particular single buildings they will be on. Whatever I make and/or release will be in a BRZ format so it can be removed fast if there is an unforeseen issue. Wall graffiti hardly stands out since until your close to the action. Posters stand out. Looking at photos of the Battles in Sicily and Italy is that you had very unadorned streets with just a bare touch of commercial and political advertisement or hand painted slogans. Wish this could be a 'flavor' object that you could just add to a structure. Oh mjkerener that's your patch mod my 1st Division boys are wearing in my initial posts. Pants look good-no issue with variations.
  2. Yes you are correct on that and to illustrate your point it looks better on a smooth wall. Really crude stuff tonight-I think I figured out how to skew the poster. Still needs work on weathering. I just stuck on a smooth sidewall surface wall that showed my image backward-just copy and pasted and reversed. Poster of an Italian & German Soldier subjugating a 'Tommy'. Hmm might get an argument from the 82nd on that. Later, Gator. Oh yeah before I forget-the requisite boilerplate (considering the subject matter) my poster mod are not a reflection of my political stance. This is strictly an experiment to add color and atmosphere to this WWII Strategy Game.
  3. Still have to work out skewing the posters a bit-and the rough stone texture would normally get something painted on. Paper posters would be more likely affixed to smoother surfaced buildings. Just experimenting-adding a touch color to the game.
  4. No problem with the essentials from what I can see. Just experimenting now. Here's the Big Red 1 showing how it's done. Playing around. Fun stuff. 'Did you see that?' I don't want to over do it with the slogans and posters and what I can see the game renders it properly on the front and back of a building-on the side it can appear backward since it uses the same bmp for both sides. 2 story buildings-Haven't messed with multistory yet. Graphics on a building doesn't appear to be like a decal on a vehicle where you give it a number and you can have the -say a poster treated like a decal -appearing randomly. Anyone working on building textures? Go for it. No telling where posters may show up. In the past.... or in future modules.
  5. And you...what are you doing ? Well I was just screwing around solving a screencapture problem and goofing off. Anyhow playing around while awaiting delivery of another computer..... Viva Il Duce! E TU...? handpainted Viva Il Duce on the left and Be on the lookout for saboteurs on the right.
  6. Yes-I don't know what happened with my first install-didn't see a frame count. 2nd install worked. YUP Tried FRAPS again. It worked. Evidently this screencapture problem is WIN7 - from my research-is common with some games. FRAPS some how defeats this problem.
  7. Thanks but I tried Fraps and Screenshot Captor and the paste function in PAINTNET. All they give me is a black screen. It's got me stumped. Fiddled withall the settings in the game. I don't have an after market video card yet-just an embedded NVIDEA chip. Been GOOGLING all afternoon-they say disable hardware acceleration but that's strange -I can take screen shots with the same computer of Silent Hunter 4.
  8. I stored my current work on desktop-because I'm lazy. And now I'm paying the price for my stupidity. I have extra hardrives attached-just didn't shove the work in them -2 weeks of new work on dusty recce vehicles *PUFF* like dust in the wind. Mods and edits for other games I stored-latest work stuff....dumb dumb dumb.
  9. When I capture a screen in Win7 on ANY Shockforce game I get a black screen-doesn't matter if I use Printscreen or any screencapture utility. I can capture screenshots but not in the Shockforce game. I could in my XP machine (that just died). All my games and modules are patched up to the latest. Specs. Win7 Service Pack 1 HP P6-2120t Intel R Pentium R CPU G630, 270GHZ 2.70GHZ 4 GB of RAM 64-bit Win7 home edition
  10. I'd have too echo those sentiments. Incidently the Gravieteam sims do come with modding utilities-but they are a nightmare-clumsy- to use. Not at all elegent in implementing or execution. I spent less then an hour extracting a graphic file to modify and nearly a week and a half of night computer time trying to get it back in the game, show up in the game or crashing with the dreaded 001 error. It's a small outfit-there product is good-but the provided modding tools are clumsy.
  11. Thanks-I'll let you know what happens I-need some time to rebuild. The computer with my art work and art programs died last night.
  12. Thanks for the YOUTUBE. Nope same problem. I tried your approach 3 prong attack and it was hit or miss-tried facing the troops . Didn't work. I modified the mission with the higher suggested settings and it worked just like your Youtube-no problems Just pointed them in that direction with one long QUICK waypoint-laid a BLAST waypoint a bit beyond the wall and it worked like magic with no fuss on my part. My original ShockForce was on a Paragon disc-not a download. I have all the modules and it's patched to 1.32.
  13. Let them come in-and bring there brothers in after they signal "ALL CLEAR!:)" Hide your men and keep the firing arcs small. Better -more important targets are coming down the road. Nothing more devastating then fresh troops up close pouring it on. You nullify his artillery by letting his men get to close to you.
  14. Sent-look for the title Blasting Scenarios I use them strictly for training.
  15. One other thing-I play at ELITE settings so that may make a difference to.
  16. Want to play around with an Opel Blitz in CMBN and a Fiat 626 from FI in solid colors and decals. How do you ditch the camouflage?
  17. Well they are someone scenario I modified so I can't publicly post them for download. Buy I can zip you up the Marine and British Army variation plus the one that gave me trouble. Just PM me your e:mail. The settings that don't give me what I want are below-changes in red. EXPERIENCE=Regular MOTIVATION=Normal FITNESS=Fit LEADERSHIP=+1 SUPPLY=Full EQUIPMENT=Average VEHICLE STATUS=OK
  18. Well the settings are different for the US Army Engineers unless I changed them from way back when I downloaded the original scenario (over a year ago). But the file I had the US Army Engineers only blew a wall about 50% of the time. I upped the settings in my modification of the scenario in the Scenario Editor purchase screen with the USMC and English Army Engineers always work. So I used the settings I posted. No problems. Did a search on blasting and saw various strings on it. Thought it was my placement of soldiers-or the blasting waypoint. It wasn't. The US Army Engineers had a lower setting in my scenario file.
  19. The bad news-it's black and white. The good news-TONS of real German equipment (yup that's a Stg44, Opel Blitz and Sd.Kfz...)and suitable grim atmosphere.:):) Trailer http://bestforfilm.com/dvd-reviews/action-dvd-reviews/decision-before-dawn/ Movie on YOUTUBE
  20. Ok stand corrected-not a bug. At a minimum for the US ARMY Engineers -if you build a scenario use the following settings after you purchasers your Engineers. EXPERIENCE=Veteran MOTIVATION=High FITNESS=Fit LEADERSHIP=+1 SUPPLY=Full EQUIPMENT=Average VEHICLE STATUS=OK Anything less and they will screw up when you need them. I was playing the Scenario Blasting Angels-but the Engineers were worthless sometimes they worked other times :mad::mad: Sooooo I used the higher settings above on 2 other scenarios with higher Engineering settings for USMC and Brits that I modified from Blasting Angels and the U.S. Army Engineers were consistent in blasting walls like the Marines and the Brits.
  21. No problem with USMC and Brits. But no matter how you line up the US Army Engineers on a wall it's problematic at best. I used all the tricks, facing the wall, blast way point before wall, over the wall on the wall. They aren't reliable. I doubt the bug will be fixed-just throw it our there anyone doing a search on this.
  22. That dates you AND me HAHAHA. But everything changed for me after ATTACK!
  23. Echoing what someone said about the uniforms-leave the mix of new and worn. Not a parade ground. Some had new uniform items some used them after quite a few washings. And N. African and Sicilian sun I'm sure bleached out quite a lot. Looks GREAT! ____________________ Audie Murphy to the rescue-with the brown pants- in Hollywood TECHNICOLOR -though I don't think the 3rd Inf. Division patch was that prominent on the helmet. Footage is just for pants color reference. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fY21PXTcgnw&feature=relmfu
  24. Where ever you come down on this movie (it was produced by the late dictator Quaddafi) depicting the time Italy occupied Libya- it does have first rate production values. Whether they built fiberglass replicas of period Italian Armor and armored cars I don't know. Trailer But as I said it has first rate production values. They threw a lot of petro dollars in this one. Didn't spare with the replicas or the stars (Oliver Reed, Rod Steiger and Anthony Quinn) Just for your 'militaria' consideration. Full movie is on youtube if you do a search. Actually the movie isn't bad- considering who funded it. http://www.eccentric-cinema.com/cult_movies/lion_desert.htm
