  1. Bump - still LF PBEM game of the A3R mod. Prefer mirror.
  2. My suggestion would be to increase the number of hexes - at least for the countries where most of the action took place - i.e. central europe. it looks pretty cramped in France. Either way though - glad to hear the mod is being developed.
  3. Bump - still LF opponent. Please PM. Thx
  4. Hi, I played SC or SC2 long ago but I'm new back to the game and feel like a newb when I try to play. I'd like to start up a mirror game of A3R mod if someone is interested. If you are a really good player then you'll be killing me so some tips and advice would be great as we go along. If you're also newbish then it should be a pretty fair match I think. PM if interested. Thx
  5. Thanks for the mod - looks pretty good! I'm not clear on how to invest in industrial and production tech. I found the paragraph about that in the notes rather confusing. Should every country try to invest in IT and PT? Or should some countries not invest during certain years (or ever) because there is some scripted increase? Thanks
  6. Good to hear Bill, thanks for the info. I am looking forward to theater specific games using the new game improvements. And I also agree that there's not really any other game that covers WW2 global (that I know of) and connects all the dots so I'm happy to see the release of the game - I am glad I bought it. I just see so much more potential if those 2 problems can be surmounted (attrition war and lack of manuever).
  7. "1. I was a bit disappointed that the map scale was cranked down - no doubt to accommodate the shear size of it - from the original SC2. This wouldn't be such an issue if it didn't strip the feel of WW2 style maneuver from the game. This has exacerbated the original SC2's need to pound a single unit with multiple air and ground attacks to knock it out. It feels like a WW1 style war of attrition, especially in France. 3. It's somewhat annoying that units can't always move into vacant spaces in China (the jungle square north of Foochow from the direction of Shanghai, for example) or attack in certain directions. These are frustrating terrain restrictions in a severely bottlenecked war of attrition. I'll follow up with the manual. " These were my 2 main concerns based on experience playing global war scenarios in earlier versions of SC. I agree that the lack of manuever takes a lot of fun out of the game. I'm hoping that there will either be scenarios with bigger maps if that's possible - or scenarios that focus on only europe or only asia so that more manuever is possible.
  8. Hi, I played I think the original SC or SC2, including some mods that were I thought good - one was all of Europe with a hugely blown up map that gave a lot more room for manuever. This was pretty good I think. I'll refer to SC2-squares as hexes below fyi. I also played a mod that was global but there were so few hexes and mobility was so limited in particular in Asia that if I remember right units would literally get stuck and not be able to move a lot of the time, or maybe move a single hex. It was a little goofy not to have more hexes to manuever in so didn't work that well for the global mod. What do series vets think are big improvements in SC2GC? What are you looking forward to w/ the new game? Any thoughts on improvements and how well a global scenario can work? Will there be enough hexes to have some manuever?
