  1. Bought and downloaded - digital distribution is a breeze
  2. Oh but I did - just didn't get to complete the game before the trial expired Oh well, I'll be buying the game anyways Terrific - that replay is gonna be the cream of the LAN party
  3. Basically, it's nothing more than a non-playing client. This means I can run it on my Windows server, set up a new, or load, a game and just leave it there for players to log on to and submit their turns. So it could be set to generate new turn automatically every 10 minutes or 24 hours, or it could be set to only generate turn once all orders have been submitted (or by forced turn generation if ie. a player drops out). I hope you'll give it a second thought, eventually. By leaving out PBEM your're requiring up to 10 players to be online at the same time. This is ok for a fast 15 minute FPS session, but for a longer game as EoS is, it's not really doable.
  4. The demo tutorial still tells you to right-click on the circle to unload - probably isn't updated. This is a change for the better - if the transport was very close to shore, it was impossible to right-click the yellow cirle. Anyway, shouldn't this post be un-stickied since it's no longer relevant?
  5. Is it possible to set up a dedicated host like the Civilization Pitboss? Since there's no PBEM feature, a dedicated host is crucial when it's impossible to get all players are online at the same time.
  6. I've watched the " " on YouTube. Does this mean that after a game has ended, I'll be able to watch the full game replay, including all players?!?!
  7. I've been following this game loosely, ever since I read it'd be turn based simultaneous (WEGO) and that it'll feature LAN play - we don't have Internet-access at our bi-annual LAN. So, is LAN-only multiplayer possible?
  8. Actually the trade model used by Civ4 is as simple as it gets, and same model could be used as supply i EoS. Basically, a unit is supplied if you can trace an unbroken line between it and a supply center (by land or sea). If you want to cut supplylines, simply cut the line with a blockade of land or naval units.
  9. Hi I'm totally ecstatic about Empires of Steel! I've been searching for YEARS for a game using the simultaneous turn-based model, but sadly only a handfull of games use this model. The old game Stars! did, as does the Dominions series, Combat Mission and Laser Squad Nemesis. For the record, Civ4's simultaneous movement mode is NOT simultaneous turn-based. Many people don't realise the perfection of the real simultaneous turn-based model used by Empires of Steel, when it comes to multiplayer. It's cheat-free (players can't just reload), fair (noone "goes first") and fastest turnbased multiplayer model around (no waiting for "next player"). I really think this should be stressed/explained - it's THE major selling point for this game, yet few people here seem to notice.
