  1. Ok thanks for the quick replies Arzok and Schrullenhaft.
  2. Hello all, couple of quick questions firstly: 1. If I download the Centauro add-on, will the new Crusader tanks be available to the British army in the main TOW2 campaign? Or are they unplayable and just for the Italian missions? 2. If I wanted to pre-order Kursk 1943, the only option is a download and mail version. When will the download only option be available for pre-orders? Since I got the download version of TOW2 and found that to be more convenient. Thx for your time guys. Thadius.
  3. Do you think Japanese armour would be a viable gameplay mechanic for a game as realistic as TOW? I would love to play a game with Japanese armoured units, but I know the IJA critically ignored armoured vehicle development until it was too late. Seeing a Chi-ha or Ha-go going toe to toe with allied armour would be fun
  4. I really like the fact that a company sat down and fleshed out a good Italian campaign, and it really does show the fact that early war tanks are just as much fun to play as than late war models. I would love to see a european Blitzkrieg campaign add-on that involves a French campaign so you can use all of those cool looking french tanks. Does anyone think a TOW in the pacific would be feasible? Have a British, Austrailian, American and Japanese campaign with all the relevant tanks? Just asking since the Centauro pack has shown what can be done with an army that is considered very poor by alot of people.
  5. Thx AleMichi, I will definitely get this now
  6. @Moon Is there any chance that you could post a list of the new units and vehicles in the Centauro pack please?
  7. @Centauro Any chance you can post a list of all the new weapons and vehicles please? And is it possible to play the Vanilla TOW2 british campaign with the new Crusader tanks?
  8. What is the complete list of new vehicles in Centauro? I know the main chunk will be Italian armour and vehicles, but I noticed Crusader tanks. Is the Matilda in there also? And is it possible to play say the British campaign with the new crusader tanks? The british armour selection is exactly 1 tank which is a little poor compared to other WW2 games that have plenty more.

Thx for the update Moon and Sneaksie.
  10. Well it would go without saying that Dora and Thor would be off map artillery call in abilities. We would be talking lots of infantry on the map, which could degenerate into pure chaos but still be a new style of play for TOW which mainly focuses on tanks. Although I am glad Italy will be getting its own expansion soon for TOW2, I would really like to see some missions centering around the Italian forces in Russia. I would say the same about Romania, since they were involved in the Stalingrad sector and would involve some combined arms missions for both nations.
  11. *slaps head* Ok obviously didn't look hard enough Just remembered it being on the mission screen in TOW and didn't think to look in the options for an option like that, thanks Sneaksie.
  12. Is it possible to modify a file in the battlefront folder to unlock all the campaign missions? I don't fancy messing with the editor to make the missions easier, just having an option to play any mission would be better for me. Pity this doesn't have the same option from TOW 1 where you could ignore campaign loss and continue. Thanks in advance
  13. I not long finished reading Osprey's Sevastopol campaign book and found that a really interesting and very well written book. I would love to see a campaign featuring the Russian defenders versus the German/Romanian attackers. It would be a totally different campaign relying on artillery and infantry assaults with very few tanks involved. A definite challenge.

Wow cool pic, shows how much effort they put into the armour penetration values. Although it would be nice to hear if this is going to be an add on or a stand alone game in the TOW2 series.

I guess this is a seperate game in the series, since the 1C site mentions it is "a new game in the theatre of war series" rather than another expansion pack. With the content it will probably be a full priced game all considered.
  16. Ah k thx Panzershlange Will DL when I finish the campaigns really nice work on the models, they look great in those pics.
  17. @Tche I agree that seeing some of the battles on the east front featuring Romanian and Hungarian forces would be really cool. The contributions good or bad by those nations is largely ignored in WW2 computer games, and I guess we can only hope that either someone makes a really good mod or 1C decide to make a few new campaigns featuring other nations.

So would this be considered a stand alone expansion? A new game using the theatre of war 2 engine? Details seem a bit sketchy from the vids. Also if it is out in Autumn does that mean Battlefront have been given the rights to sell it abroad? So many questions but it still looks pretty good.
  19. Sorry noob question here, not gotten onto the British campaign yet so the Matilda isn't in the base game?
  20. I got the guide today, and have only read a few bits and pieces but was surprised to see that it only listed British and German docrtines and not the US or Italian doctrines. Although the two that are in were very interesting, and helped me plan for the first few german missions. I also found the tactics section useful for assaults and defence, as on theatre of war 1 I simply charged and hoped for the best If you guys are planning on making anymore in the future I would be happy to buy them. For txema, it is like broadsword said, its like an interactive book that doesn't have any animations, but is well laid out and clear to use. I bought it because of how unique it is, but obviously its all down to personal taste.
  21. I am going to get this as part of the Theatre of war 2 bundle later this week, and was wondering if you are going to be doing anymore of these guides for the expansions? Since we have the Centauro expansion and possbily the Kursk 43 expansion later on. Will these be added as part of the guide at a later date? Or will they be released as new smaller guides?
  22. World war II desert tactics is a book I have been eyeing for a while now, but I have been collecting the campaign series from osprey so not really wanted to start another series, but the cover info was certainly interesting. Italian forces on the east front is something that I find quite interesting, but sadly gaming never seems to acknowledge Italy's involvement beyond Africa or Sicily. I have read about italian gun crews fighting until the last man against Allied tank units, so they certainly don't deserve the stigma that is attacthed to to them, the same as the French army.
  23. Ah now that is far better an explanation for the entire purchase process than is listed on the product page, thanks Moon I know I might have sounded like a dick on the original post, but if it got the information I needed then I am happy, sorry about that Moon. Well I will probably be making a purchase of TOW2 then next week, and can't wait for the Centauro expansion. Again thanks for the info.
  24. Its good to see a WW2 game that accurately portrays the Italians in the desert campaign, it is so frustrating to see the same old ill educated comments cropping up.
  25. Hi, just asking if anyone has any information on a retail release of TOW 2? I am put off by the elicense thing, not because of the DRM, but because after a year I have to pay again to download, or go through support just to activate a game I have already purchased. If I have gotten the wrong idea, then please correct me, just going by what the FAQ's say. Thanks for any help in advance.
