  1. I had the exact same problem with my Hp notebook (running a ATI x1600) - All the menu screens were black. Once I got into a scenario (by remembering where the buttons were), the performance was great..... I downloaded new video drivers, and this did solve the problem....but completely ruined the in game performance - upto 2 seconds per frame in a small scenario....not good at all! Rolled back to the previous version of drivers and things improved - the menus worked, and the FPS was almost acceptable. Still unsure what was/is wrong.
  2. Some feedback from someone running CMSF on a slightly lesser machine (1.5GHz Dual core, 1 GB RAM) - After battling my way all the way to "Suburb Hamah", I've had to give up. The game has been reduced to 1 frame every 10 seconds in this scenario. The huge numbers of vehicles and long lines of sight are probably the cause... I've really enjoyed the battles that I've played up to this point, but have one or two small suggestions. In a few battles, reinforcements appear in regions that are under LOS of enemy units - nice fireworks when it's enemy BMP's under fire from my M1's...but it shouldn't happen. Secondly, some of the maps are very, very flat. Some small variations in the elevation across the map would add to the realism, and give the player a few more options. A great, challenging campaign - a pity I had to give up before the end.
  3. This could plausably be a result of the way I constructed the large building in that scenario. I hope not, of course... edit I see that the problem occured within just one 3 story unit. Ignore what I said... [ February 10, 2008, 05:46 PM: Message edited by: Windle_Poons ]
  4. I've just posted my first, somewhat amaturish, attempt at scenario design to www.cmmods.com It's a short sharp infantry only battle, inspired by the CMAK scenario "Find the Fox!" by Wild Bill Wilder. Playable as blue only. Any and all constructive critisism will be gratefully recieved As I said, I'm new at this Steve
