  1. Thank you Hubert. At now I'm trying to learn more than I can on the editor. The next step is to do a little scenario to prove myself. Dien Bien Phu Only ten years after WW2 end with mainly conventional units (the only guerrillas there were on the french side). So I haven't to do too much sprites
  2. Yeah, is this one. What a enthusiastic welcome. Yes, I'm a newcomer to mods development. But I have some ideas on this one. This map is only a scketch to work on. Now I work to learn to use the editor. So I think I will have a little scenario in a short time. Maybe with some special features.
  3. I have to admit a little fear when I have to use carriers because I don't know what side, me or the enemy, will have more damage.
  4. I agree that the game balance is the real need. But you can't have different rules for carriers in Europe or in the Pacific. The splitted counters ops ( ie aircrafts and carrier splitted) doesn't change the balance and keep the carriers much more usable and with a deeper strategy.
  5. The map will contain the South Vietnam and the demilitarized zone with a little piece of the North Vietnam. A part of Laos, the Ho Chi Minh trail, and vast part of Cambodia. I think to include in the game the Pathet Lao and Khmehr Rouge forces.

RECRUITING 1 VERY IMPORTANT PEOPLE Someone who can work on the units sprites and the flags (maybe in an innovative way). 2 Some other people that can work with me on the map, scripts and research. 3 Play testers a go-go. 4 Hubert Cater himself. Maybe we can use him as well. If he wants, of course.
  10. Main Objectives 1 The final mod version will simulate the full 1965-1975 Vietnam war at regiment-brigade-division scale. Maybe we will have some scenarios on the full map taking in account only one or two years or a special historical event like the Tet offensive or the 1972 offensive. 2 The Vietnam war was as a political affair as a military affair, so the game will be heavily scripted with historical events ( plus many only descriptives historical events to paint the time feeling like the beatiful spanish civil war scenario). 3 We have to do with the tools we have. So if anyone can have some brilliant thoughts to simulate the fluctuant south vietnamese national morale or any matters....
  11. :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: 1 I love this game. 2 I believe this game can simulate some other modern conflicts, not only WW2 enviroment. 3 I'm very interested in the Vietnam war history from many years. 4 Is my opinion that post WW2 conflicts are much more interesting because they aren't so much abused on PC. 5 If this mod will be successful I think we can force Hubert Cater to work in this direction: Post WW2 modern war conflicts. p.s. the next expansion will be a little step beyond, anyway.
  12. They are too easy targets from naval combat and earth based aircrafts and the replacements are too much expensive taking in account the easy chance to damage them.
  13. For the aircraft carriers question: As I've said before, to me the aircraft carriers have to become two (2) counters. 1 the aircrafts alone. They can have cheaper replacements and more offensive punch. 2 the carrier will be only the floating base with her defence targeted upgrades and more expensive replacements.

  15. I'm playing a game as Axis and I think is funny. The fuel option is a good idea.
