  1. Could you please report back on what improvement you eventually see with this upgrade? Like you, I have been very disapponited with my current 8600GT, and have been considering a Combat Mission friendly upgrade for a little while, so I'm intrigued what your experience is. Thanks in advance!!
  2. Yes, version 1.08 did help - almost doubled the frame rate. But, like all the other updates, it increased FPS only for the first time I played after updating. Once I had quit and re-started the game, then FPS fell back to their original levels again.....
  3. I did not have disappearing crews with Alt-W, until I installed 169.28 drivers (next beta version up from 169.21). However, 169.28 finally allowed me to run the graphics maxed out - including v-synch and anti-aliasing on. I reverted to 169.21 and the Alt-W issue went away (although I cannot max out the graphics with shadows on and get a decent frame rate - have to remove shadows to let me do that). Patch 1.06 seems to make the difference for me.
  4. Interestingly I installed 169.28 beta drivers, and lost the ability to turn on shadows, but did get the ability to run the game with maxed out graphics (including v-synch and anti-aliasing turned on) at around 20fps - which is quite playable. Switched back to 169.21, and got the ability to turn shadows on again, but then performance at 12 fps (not so playable). Am glad I have the choice, however. Running XP dual core with 2gb RAM and NVIDIA 8600 GT graphics card.
  5. Thanks for the answer Battlefront. Will hold out for 1.05.
  6. Been a spectator of these forums for a while - time to join!! I also have continuing dual core problems with 1.04. Still forced to use the "processor affinity" trick to solve the issue. Intel D 2.66ghz / Nvidia 7600 GS / 2gb RAM Any help gratefully received!
