  1. hey dude, i have a 8800gtx 768mb card i downloaded these , installed and tried them out. no difference at all still very frammey, prety much unplayable. can only hope that V.03 patch for the game is out soon!!
  2. shure ill elaborate. and no its not an exageration unfortunately op diane mission. friendly troops in buildings on roof tops. all troops are faced towards enemy for better spotting and are hidden. my op teams call in airstrikes untill i get them in close, less than 500m's i wait till the T-62's stop as they move in pairs, i then engage with my ATGM crews and ATGM vehicles. i also engage the targets which have been imobilised, these are about 800 to 1000m's away. so i have my guys engage static targets only while they are not under any type of enemy fire as i have had them on hidden till this point. each missile that is fired always miss'es long. i.e just behind the target. this is the same for vehicles and infantry. i really wish i was exagerating as i have played this mission till im blue in the face and have now quit the game till the next patch. and this is only since i patched with V1.02 i never had this issue before. i was playing with the downloaded version from battlefront and only patched to V1.02 last week. thats great news about V1.03, ive never had a bad game from BF till now so will be really glad when the new patch comes out. also i cant stress enough they really are missing 99.9% of the time!!

  4. yup they just miss constantly, but only since i patched up to V1.02. i did see a post though explaining that this is caused by something they did in this patch and should be fiked with V1.03 patch, that is why i was asking about it
  5. hey dude, well for my self first off i used the tanks and ICV's to blast the enemy positions on the left flank. after this is dont i split my team in 2. group 1 who has 1 tank and most of the infantry move to the south wall of the barracks like you have been doing. group 2 who has 3 tanks and a couple of ICV's blast the top of the close in barracks till it is rubble. javlins are great for this. and yes you have to babysit every units targeting. i also put 2 MG teams out in the open about 400M's south of the barracks after it has been properly suppresed. these teams can support the assault and also engage targets on the right flank. dont forget your MG teams can engange and destroy light targets about 1200M's away, i mean your GPMG/M60 guys here not the M249 guys. i put 3 tanks and 3 ICV's on the right flank to provide in depth fire support as my units moved up to storm the barracks. these guys can also target the incomming enemy on the right flank is well. they manage to kill anything that comes that way. my arty i only used on the right flank as it is great for cutting down exposed infantry. air burst for the win! mean while my infantry are able to entre the barracks from the south set up on level 2 of the barracks as i only destroy the top level as that is where the enemy are. i put a couple of squads on level 2 to do cover fire on the oppisite buildings and then bring in the ICV's to provide more cover fire on the buildings. i then send a few more squads over to assault the target buildings. result major victory. 1 tank got mobility killed and i lost a few grunts. as no mater what you do you will lose some cos its war. yes arty can take about 5-10 minutes to arrive, this is realistic as not all batterys are in position on the modern battle field, they normally do shoot and scoot so as to avoid counter battery fire. or they can be busy on targets for other units. as for cease fire orders that can still take time if your comms are not great. ive seen that take several minutes alone. and im on about real life not a game. i justhope they get V1.03 patch out so they fix my ATGM's lol!! hope this helps
  6. hi all, ive been looking about and seen that the third patch is ment to be out soon, has anyone got an offical ETA for this, as i know at the moment the game is unplayable for me at least till they fix the gfx probs (8800 series) and the ATGM problems. at the mo every time i fire a ATGM it missies (well 99.9%) ive read that this is due to a problem with the V1.02 patch, with this patch they introduced an elevation problem for ATGM gunners causing the missiles to miss. no i dont really want to have to uninstall the game and go back to V1.01 as that has a lot of problems is well. plus i cant even find my saved campaign games anyway and dont really want to start at the begining again so to sumarise, lol any date on the third patch comming out?
  7. must admit you guys are part of the lucky group. im in the uk and still waiting hope it arraives soon.
  8. must admit this missions is just a complete pain in the ass! lol the main problem i have is that since i patched the game my missile teams miss with every shot, the ATGM vehicels also miss every time. is this a patch related problem or just this mission. i had got to this mission before i even patched the game, was doing great till i patched it.

  10. my friend just bought a cop of cmsf in the uk today but he cant see any form of code any where in his manual or box anywhere. he has been able to start and play the game no problem and has restarted the game several times. has the license been withdrawn now? also where is the license key normally printed on the retail version as i downloaded mine. many thanks in advance
  11. hi guys! well i must admit its just that the game is bloody hard and you need to know reall tactics to help win. which i must admit means i love the game. the second mission you refer to is a pure FIBUA / OBUA mission. i have done this a lot in RL thanks to 3 combat tours in iraq and some in other places is well. to help win in this what i do is the following. i take the first objective in the airport at the SW corner as it is the easiest first. i dont advance my vehicels into the urban enviroment without having the infantry going in ahead of them first. when i go to assualt a building i have the HMG teams suppress it from a building next to it. and have the stricker support vehicles pound on it. my arty and mortars supress the enemy in depth positions so that they cannot put effictive fire onto my assualting ellement. then the assualt group goes in, normally i drive them up to as close to the target building as possible in their APC's , normally at the end of the buildings so no windows can look out onto them from the target building as they de-buss from the APC's. they then assualt the building from the ground up. i normally use at least 2 squads on each building , each squad leapfroging the other so that they do not get exhausted. when the building is clear the exit get back into their APC's and re-arm and rest till the next assualt. the HMG's and command / spotter teams can then move to the captured building so as to set up for the suppressive fire for the next assualt. this is standard doctrine at present for most army's. i generally take very few casualtys using this method. i know of no site that gives you doctrine manualls for modern urban warfare but tbh i aint looked. like i said i only know this stuff cos of rl. even with this you can still expect to take up to 70% casualtys in the urban enviroment if you meet very heavy resistance. feel free to pm with questions
