  1. Sonar. I think everyone else here gets a pretty clear idea of your mental development. If all you are going to do is post sophomoric (complete with spelling errors) useless comments then I think you should expect responses in the same tone. Why not come in with some humility and true desire for some assistance? You'd find tons of intelligent, dedicated gamers eager to help with your problems. As the game runs fine on my system, which is hardly high end as well as most others..then the problems you appear to be experiencing are most likely the cause of operator error - to put it nicely. Or..I could just say that the operator is crap, but I wouldnt do that.
  2. When the extent of someone's critique is something akin to, "The game is crap."...you know the extent of their mental development. This guy gets off on coming in and posting his imbecilic comments apparently.
  3. He surely didnt try very hard. I tend to think as a customer you'd be more of a liability than an asset anyway, so perhaps its best that you and the game part ways. I have a "middel" end rig as well and had zero problems with the game. You can adjust camera scroll in the options menu. Was this supposed to be a joke post, btw? and its "lose"....not loose
  4. CHANNS! Who is the source of the wonderful quote at the end of your posts? I have to know.
  5. Slapaho. Cool videos. How ever did you get Stephen Hawkings wife to perform the narration?
  6. Bad. You are turning out to look rather the bonehead in this discussion. Do you honestly believe that you can make any claim you want without a shred of evidence and then require your adversary to DISPROVE it? What planet of logic do you live on? I might state that dropping a huge anvil of say....5000lbs directly on a Pz III would crush the turret like a grape and further that it IS feasible to do so and the Russians tried it at some place and time. Now...you please disprove that statement. Do you see how silly that type of argument is? Come on man.
  7. Bad. I hate to heap more upon you for I am no armor/ammo expert (far from it) but from my viewpoint it would help if you'd provide sources/data for your claim. Appears to me that folks in this room know quite a bit about ammo types and effectiveness but you've yet to demonstrate the same. I dont mean that to be an insult and you could be right...I dont know...but without some support you're not engaging in a helpful discussion. Just my opinion...again...I dont mean to insult.
  8. Thank for the great info, John and the additional comments. Seems like designers would want an operational main cannon if it was at all possible. And that it appears very simple to do so (eg:a modification to the mantle) seems to me to make it very likely it could fire. I've been playing CoH quite a bit lately and though it is a-historical in many ways....its also really dang fun and the graphics are wonderful. But the graphics in ToW are perhaps better in their realism but I honestly havent played it enough to get a good handle. It takes much more of my brain to play ToW and therefore it currently takes a back seat to CoH. Nice to have options though! Thanks again for the great info. Mark
  9. John, A thought then about the calliope.....since it's attached to the cannon via a rod would it not seem that the recoil from the gun would possible damage the linkage? Seems logical to me. Your thoughts? Thanks for posting so much good information(everyone)..on a side note...my wife finds it interesting (and a bit unsettling) that I am so fascinated by military history and yet have been for years an avowed pacifist. I tell her its precisely because I've done all this study and listened to my dad and uncles descriptions of combat that I AM so anti-war. I just love history and history tends to revolve around big events for which wars certainly qualify. Great discussion everyone.
  10. John, WOW. What an answer! offtopic question on armor for you...actually related to CoH. Could a Sherman t34 calliope tank fire its main cannon whilst having the calliope still attached? I cant see why it couldnt...but it cant in CoH. I realize that CoH is certainly NOT a realistic portrayal of combat (nor is it meant to be). Just curious if the developers might have rendered cannon inoperable for gameplay balance. Thanks Mark
  11. Thats okay....in the training scenario 4 I had ordered my KV to hold but forgot and was cursing the stupid game when he would fire on the 4 approaching Pz2s or 3s. Stupid me. Good question is...why would 4 light tanks ALL fail to turn and face the heavy tank which was destroying them piecemeal. Either that or flee like hell. I smoked them all and they just sat there with their broadsides conveniently exposed. Another game anomaly.
  12. Seems like you guys are arguing pointlessly. You are both "right". John...sure as heck knows this german arms...but I dont believe he meant to imply that you dont know what happened in your game scenario. He was speaking historically...and you are speaking about ToW. So stop arguing! Okay? So....the question remains...how the heck could a Sherman take that sort of abuse and still remain "alive". Seems to be the Sherm might remain alive (though I tend to think it would brew up) but the contents would have been shaken AND stirred and not up to much still in this realm. Hope 1C will fix things like this.
  13. The tanker in turret DOES appear to be a Tommy.
  14. JOhn, I dont know. That last picture you sent (from model kit) DOES look quite a bit like the photo, though the first 2 look markedly different to me..but it still appears to me to be a Pershing. Can you post Pershing photo for comparison? Good point on the standard marking. Mark
  15. Wow. Thats complicated. I'll have a go at it. Does sound fun. Can I remove body parts if I require them as well?
  16. I've read many posts describing where soldiers scavange (thats a funny word when you think about it) enemy equipment - infantry arms (bazookas, hand grenades) but I've yet to figure out how to do this. I've searched manual but not found it there. thanks
  17. A valentine? Has a US insignia and looks like a Pershing. No? Pretty good sized tank.
  18. Thanks. Say...I got the file which is a form new to me. Its an xml page? What do I do to get this replacement mission in the game? Thanks
  19. Thanks for the info. I did a search in the forums for this mission, but didnt get a hit. Maybe I searched incorrectly? So its bugged? Thats good to know. I followed a walkthrough from TTGames and still couldnt make any dent in the German advance. Training mission 4 seems more playable. Thanks again.
  20. Hey folks. Seems like there is lots to like about this game but I've also been reading criticisms as well..some are irrational and some seem well placed. I'm trying to defend a position in the training missions and finding it all but impossible to survive, which seems to lend some creedance to what I've read about super AI. I place my 2 AT guns behind trees and order them to hold fire and position..I also order all soldiers to hold do same. Placed a couple of soldiers near AT guns as replacements. Problem for me, like others, is that the germans always knock out my guns no matter what. What have others tried to be successful on this mission. I have always lost all soldiers trying to man guns and am left watching invisible tanks push over trees.
