And if you press tab, any buttons you were pressing at the time will be "preserved." By this I mean that if you are holding "W" to go forward and then press tab, your view will be disconnected and you can fly around the battlefield, but your tank will keep on rolling forward. This rule also applies to the tacmap. Hold forward and then go to the tacmap with space, and you'll keep going. This can be useful in preserving momentum, but also dangerous if you're headed for a cliff, so be careful!

Yes, that's exactly what I meant. Sorry about the confusion. eLicense is installed on MS Windows, but not Linux & Mac OS X as far as I know. It would still be nice if a dev would come who can answer your questions, because to be honest Windows is the only OS I haven't tried it on. Good luck, and I hope we can see Clay or someone on this thread soon.

Wow, I actually showed up on the Low Dunes game? I was playing on my iMac for most of the games, and I decided to check back after I left. When it turned out there were 3 people on, I tried to join on my Linux computer, but alas something there is quite messed up. I'm not sure what exactly happened, but my computer would freeze at "caching objects." When I turned off caching, my box froze right after loading. Ctrl-alt-delete even failed me, so I gave up. I'll try running update and troubleshooting- I'd like things to work out on that computer.

Sorry, I've just been too busy to make it to the games these past few weeks. Who knows about the future, but I'll definitely be seeing you tomorrow! I just want to make sure because I'm always on at the wrong time- is it 2:00 CST?
-
congrats, jby! Wish I'd been there to see it. Sorry all, but I will most definitely be there this coming Sunday!
-
Well, elicense is just for PC's. If you're using a Mac or Linux box you're in luck. Otherwise, Windows is the only system I'm not running it on, so you'll have to ask someone else around here.

Thanks, Jung and jby- that was a great game. Up against two admittedly superior players, I was kind of desperate. Trying to wrangle the bots did NOT have a good outcome, and we made several failed attempts at pincering the flag.
In a few minutes, jby and Jung killed our attackers and grabbed our flag. I was unhappy. Luckily, right before jby touched our flag to his, I jumped over the ridge in a Shrike, grabbed the flag, and spent the rest of the game running away to cries of "You can't run forever!" I decided this was the only prudent choice, however, seeing as my base was in ruins. I ordered the other bots to attack the enemy flag, but in the end we got a battle in which the enemy came out ahead by 5 or so points. Great job everyone, and all who participated in the games Sunday!
Speaking of DT, I was thinking of us making an in-depth campaign as a community to draw more players, and so we can say that single-player is actually fun! what do you all think?

... oops, sorry I put it in CST- I men the normal time; see you guys online!
-
2:00 today, who's coming?
-
/\
I knew that! Really! What are you talking about? I only said it's great to have testers like Sharkiee back!
Sorry I didn't know that, oops...
It would be great to get all the old players together for a huge game, hope we can get it to work!
-
Great fun on those matches, guys.
EDIT: Nice to see testers like Sharkiee coming back!

Oh, so it's not a library that came with DropTeam? I just installed it and hopefully I'll be able to play today.
-
whoops. thanks jby, I'll see you guys online if i can fix my DT startup problems
-
I just switched my Linux OS from Ubuntu to Fedora because of the wireless problems I was getting in 7.10; I'm not sure whether or not this relates to the problem. Anyway, now when I boot DT I get this error message:

code:

./SpaceVikings: error while loading shared libraries: libGLU.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

If I can get it working on my Linux box, I'll hopefully be online. Man, it's been a while. IIRC it's around 3 PM CST?

I assume the servers are back? Great!
-
You really think they're giving up on the WWII edition? That's no good...
-
Didn't PoppinHobbit just make a post saying DT is coming to GameTap soon? It doesn't make sense to drop the server with a new development like that coming...
Edit: Yes, it is definitely coming to GameTap. I'm going to use this as an excuse to hope that DropTeam will stay alive.

All right, hopefully he'll be willing to jump in...
But a very good point about TBG- it's a race against time!
-
Do we have room for another player? Out of pure curiosity, I think I can recruit someone who hasn't played in a while. How many people are signed up now?
-
All right then, 8 EST sounds great; however, isn't that 1 AM for those in GMT? That makes it trickier IMHO.
-
December 27 sounds great for me; the 28th won't work.
-
It's unfortunately shared memory; thanks for the help. I guess we'll try the free demo and hope it works. I also hope the OpenGL is up to the task. Nice to see you back, by the way!

One of my favorite occurrences is having infantry in an enemy base after an EMP drop. You can pop Thors like crazy!I remember my favorite time that happened on "Raid," and boy was it amazing! I think this is a really great tactic, and come to think of it maybe I'll try using it more.
