  1. I've been trying to get DT working on my Linux box for awhile now, but I just had to reinstall Ubuntu and now I'm having problems with my mouse- but only when controlling a vehicle. I can only rotate the x-axis to the right. It used to be turning in 90 degree increments but I turned my sensitivity down from 0.5 to .05 and it's much better, but I still can't move the y-axis at all or turn left! Any help would be appreciated, and here's the aiming section of my defaultkeyboard.controls which I'm using now.

    </font><blockquote>code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;"><command name="lookDown" description="Aim Down/Up" isLinear="true" linear1Label="Down" linear2Label="Up">

    <sensitivity>0.05</sensitivity>

    <isInverted>false</isInverted>

    <isLogrithmatic>false</isLogrithmatic>

    <deadzone>0.00</deadzone>

    <mouse>

    <axis>1</axis>

    </mouse>

    </command>

    <command name="lookRight" description="Aim Left/Right" isLinear="true" linear1Label="Left" linear2Label="Right">

    <sensitivity>0.05</sensitivity>

    <isInverted>false</isInverted>

    <isLogrithmatic>false</isLogrithmatic>

    <deadzone>0.00</deadzone>

    <mouse>

    <axis>0</axis>

    </mouse>

    </command> </pre>

  2. Awesome to see you're still here! And it's really amazing you got the devs of Sins on your show. I recently got that game and I'm finding it really good! Once again, it's great that you're still playing, and I hope you can get on sometime!

    By the way, these days we're playing Sundays at 3:00 EST and Wednesdays at around 7:30-8:00 EST. Hope you can make a few games.

  3. Didn't want to make a whole new thread for this, but I did see a new server called "starfox" yesterday night (got DT to START at least on Ubuntu now!) It was running 0.9.9.8 or some such but at least it might mean we have another player online!

  4. .......... wait.

    Poesel? Hello! Long time no see!

    I was just looking at some of Imperial Grunt's pictures for map suggestions and I realized that they had far more interesting skyboxes than many DT maps. Maybe I'll see what Terragen can do...

  5. Hey guys, sorry for reviving a long-old thread, but I just realized- I think we should revitalize the skyboxes. The ones right now are almost all blue sky, with some interesting variations like boiling point and forsaken. This isn't something we need the devs to do- we can do it ourselves, and I think it would add a lot better atmosphere (get it? atmosphere) to the game.

  6. I have to admit it- DT has a pretty small fanbase. But I was wondering, though I've seen Jung and 152 often, and jby occasionally, who's still playing DropTeam. If you are, just post here please. I think it would be nice to see who all is still playing. I'll try to keep the list updated up here.

  7. The fastest I've ever gone is 199.9 m/s on Ice FIeld in a Hurricane. But that's a hovercraft on a almost mirror flat surface. This was Sea Cliffs! Does anyone want to challenge my record?
    Viper- 2,432 m/s

    The players I learned the most from (or I guess you could say I always got the biggest kick out of beating) were Yurch, Nexus, and jby.
    Yurch-gone

    Nexus-gone

    jby-here yay!

    We haven't seen Yurch since the Bacchus, right? And Nexus... well I can hope he's not gone permanently- if he is his maps will remain with us forever.

    As to today's games, well I don't think they were as great as some I've had recently but there were some great moments, like running around in a Paladin KC-M behind Jung's artillery force on Sea Cliffs, especially when I attacked Charlemagne in an Ion Thor. I was driving and skidding like crazy in circles around him, and he was swiveling like crazy to try and hit me. The ridiculous thing is that I had 100 rounds- count 'em, and I spent around 2X that trying to kill some of those Ions and Mortars and nothing died! I shot out a couple engines, blew up some turrets, but a 76mm Paladin just can't seem to kill Thors!

    And hey, I was thinking- what if we could get some in-game footage together and make an intro video? If Battlefront were willing to put it in the game, and we put it together, well... of course on the other hand it would be really hard to put together a good-looking intro by ourselves unless someone's got some really nice software. Just a crazy last thought.

  8. Sounds cool- I'll see how I can work that into the game. Modding doesn't really involve any coding- it's just editing text files, and it's pretty simple. But I can understand not wanting to do so, since it seems to be able to suck up large chunks of your life in an instant. If I could model half as well as Jung wrangles bots, we'd be set, but unfortunately I'm not too great. I'll get going anyway and see where I can get. Unless someone wants to buy me those infantry models?

  9. Well I don't think anyone is doing any modding projects... I'll sign the "Heavy Infantry Petition," but i think we should also get modding! I'll get working on it if there's anyone else willing to give it a shot! The last unit we had make it in was the Bacchus, and heck we might as well add some heavy inf units. Anyone want to start modding with me?

    I take it you meant "heaviest" literally. :D Have you seen how thick those things are? I've seen some with desktop processors!

    And btw if I'm free this Wednesday (which I doubt) and I can figure out when that is CST (which I also doubt) I'll try to make it.

  11. Those were some really great games today, everyone. I especially loved Low Dunes, and the scramble for the flag on "The Hired Help" was great! I hope we can keep mixing up the maps, because playing on new ones each time makes for some great games. Nice to see Kim2 on now, hope he's a regular appearance at our Sunday games (at least on our side,) from now on. Thanks and great games to everyone who played!

  12. I was referencing:

    Thats it. No need for a mod and it works on the server, too, since its a client side only thing.

    Using the mine picture is a bit ugly IMHO. I'd rather take:

    tracer00

    Thats harder to see but looks better. YMMV. But maybe someone draws something better. Its just a png... [smile]

    I think I'll try to get going on that "draws something better" line.
