  1. Umlaut thanks for the advise. And yes, this is quite large for my PC which is set at the "best" settings plus I have the 1 million mods plus for this game loaded in my "Z" file so I tried lowering the graphic rating to "better" but got the same results. I removed the entire "Z" file keeping my settings at "best" for now and that was the trick and I got the scenario to load and I'm glad I did. Yes, I agree with the others, this is a great looking map. Now, on with playing this scenario and later playing CW Seizing Ciembienne scenario loaded the same way.
  2. Hey Umlaut, the scenario sounds cool but I can't get the scenario to load up. It gets as far as 74% and then just sits and locks me out and then back to the desktop. It happened 3 times in a row the same way and I gave up and posted this. I have the most current game version loaded...............Has anyone else gotten this result when loading the scenario? I always can load everyone's scenarios unless there is a version incompatibility etc.
  3. Thanks for the thread link. I suspected a graphical nightmare and now I got it confirmed from Admin. Its nice to see I'm not alone missing this aspect which we old war-gamers had in the ASL board game which this game system seems to have evolved from and has gone way-beyond what it had achieved!
  4. This obviously has been probably discussed before in the previous modules but I have missed it in the Forum, but, are we ever going to see the incoming aircraft doing their strafing runs or bomb drops especially now in "Red Thunder" since the AA guns can shoot at the aircraft attacking? I had hoped that the landing of gliders or the dropping of paratroopers would be part of the movements seen in CMMG game engine but they were not included. Obviously in Red Thunder we will not see this added but it would be a fun visual to eventually see in the CMBN system.
  5. Hey TRShrum, I loaded up this scenario just now and it is a completed scenario.......This maybe a dumb question but last week 1 day after the new patch came out I tried downloading a new scenario from the Forum and it didn't load right and that's when I discovered the new patch was out and I hadn't downloaded it yet and once I patched the game I re-downloaded that scenario and all was good. Now I read all the announcements before checking the downloads!
  6. Life is all good again! My problem, besides others per my wife, was that I was unaware that the new 2.11 patch was now out until today and after running the patch this scenario now shows up. Thanks for responding and trying to help!
  7. I placed this scenario in my scenario game file for CMBN-MG and it doesn't show up on the scenario list within the game. Any idea why this is? I also tried to have it show up in the Scenario organizer mod too and it wasn't recognized there either for me.
  8. LIVE NO MORE is away for a week on vacation. I'm sure he has some screen shots. I play-tested this with him.
  9. My friend and I just finished this scenario via PBM. He was Germans and I was the Allies. It was hard fought from the beginning to the end. He chose to move his Germans via the far left hitting the Gaumesnil area on its flank after sending a few tanks down the middle unsuccessfully and then sending the other half of his forces on the right flank through the orchards and woods. He found out the hard way it was a slow go through those woods and his Tigers etc had difficulty making it to the orchards and they never made it through the orchards and into the town. Gaumesnil finally fell to the Germans but with a German price. He continued through the left flank and down the main road and into the high ground and tried to do an end run into the left side of the town but was stopped cold due to the Allies artillery strikes and key positioning of the Shermans and Fireflies that held of the Germans. The eventual result was a draw. My friend stated he made a tactical error with the Germans half-way into the battle when he attempted to press beyond his objectives and pressed towards the town giving the Allies the opportunity to gain a lot of points taking out the Germans finest fighting vehicles by playing hit and run tactics in the woods/orchards and along the roads and of course with a lot of lucky Sherman shots! We enjoyed this scenario a lot and hope to play more like this one in the future! LOS was a big challenge throughout the battle because you never could be sure who could see you or if you could see them in several of the areas of the map.
  10. I'm the recipient of the fortune of having the "titanium bunker". We are using the "The First Mountain Town" map in LiveNoMore's "Sicily" scenario which we are currently play-testing. All I have in this bunker is the HMG that came with the bunker and a leader unit. The HMG is now "shakened" but the leader is "nervous". We are just about 30 mins into this 1 hr and 30 min scenario and this bunker, which was the first target of the Allies assault, and which was the closest zone that the Allies needed to control has not fallen to the allies. This lone Sherman that was assigned with numerous INF units to take out this bunker ran out of AP rounds and started driving away when he got hit from a distant STG III AP single round and took him out to pay him back for his concentrated efforts!....and I assumed this bunker would be history after the the first wave of attackers arrived..............................
  11. Superb looking church...all you need now is space in the bell tower for a sniper...A HD sniper of course!
  12. I have a nagging question for you game enthusiast players/designers...Why does the game not allow a same side tank crew to jump into a same side same model abandoned tank whose crew bailed and was killed? I can understand why capturing an abandoned tank and using it is not allowed but why can we not jump into our own with a trained crew for that model of tank etc?
  13. Be patient. There's lots of games and scenarios out there not mentioning outside of PC life many of us have this time of year that keep us busy. My buddy and I are playing yours next. You've got a hit here and we all know you worked your %^&* off on this for sometime and we've all watched your sneak-peeks in awe of your progress and of course the quality of what you were creating. Thank you for creating and sharing!
  14. My buddy and I have been playing this scenario for over 64 mins and because of what seems to be continual air support and artillery support for the US very little FTF ground combat has occurred except for in the City. The Germans have been trying to drop the 150 howitzers ever since they got that reinforcement allotment but they have been continuously getting them delayed for unknown reasons so they haven't been able to enjoy this benefit of a reinforcement. Extremely frustrating battle for the Germans when all they can do is sit back and take air pounding. Most of the 88s and some of the STGs never fired a shot b4 they were taken out by arty and air support. Very one-sided. I'm not familiar with the historics of this campaign and maybe this is what happened in real life to the Germans in this battle. If that's the case then you have recreated/designed a scenario very accurately. But if you intended for this scenario to be balanced it is not. Not a fun side to be Germans......................
  15. Is it designed for H2H? Allies VS AI? Germans VS AI? or all 3? You need to give us more info when submitting these scenarios for us to play. Great looking map with a lot of "sneaky" places for the Germans to ambush unsuspecting Brits!
  16. Does anyone know what module will come next after CW and what is BF's time frame for its possible release? Eastern Front? I'm assuming BF has long-term goals now that their first two releases are big successes and we're all hooked on this gaming system....................
  17. I played Huzzar last year right after the first patch. I should replay it now to see any differences noted
  18. Ian, way back when CMBN first came out a PBM friend and I complained to ADMIN about the plotting across bridges problem and got no real tips to solve the problem of plotting of units to cross bridges. We posted on the Forum and got tips from members that we found work. I know you are trying to make scenarios without this from happening but I think there is nothing you can do to prevent it from happening in this game system. We made a scenario and posted it and it has several bridges but if you follow these tips when playing with bridges and creeks and rivers you can get by this game glitch. When plotting units to cross bridges change your view to be across the bridge facing the front of your vehicle/unit and then draw the path towards you on the side of the bridge you want to be and you won't get those disappearing way-points that stop and disappear under the bridge or into the embankment etc. You can also change your view to the side of the bridge and then draw the way-point/movement plotting from this angle and you can make more accurate plots that you want onto or away from the bridge. When discovering this glitch bigtime in "Huzzar" I actually had a vehicle stop on the middle of one of the key bridges by his own decision and for about 8 turns I could not even get my mouse to highlight him until one turn I finally was able to click on him and plot him to get the Hell off the bridge! By then the enemy had already got to the other side of the bridge and was waiting for me when originally I should have gotten there first! It actually cost me the game because some tanks got killed behind him that eventually jammed up the bridge behind my glitch-stopped tank! Admin said in the first patch they addressed this issue....I didn't see any change.....
  19. Just checking. Great work by the way. Thanks to guys like you this game outshines all the others!
  20. I like all 3 files.....Can I place all 3 in the Z file at once? I know your "read me" file said to label one day, one night but what about the 3rd as in the D-Day file? I just don't know how the game searches for the appropriate sound file to use for each scenario. I remember way back I downloaded the one file with the wave background and that one was never appropriate for inland scenarios so I deleted it because the game played the crashing waves for every battle!
  21. A beautiful map! I see a lot of work went into its design with the variety of terrain within to enjoy. My friend and I have been playing the scenario PBEM and we've been playing it now via Veteran level for 44 mins/turns. So far the Germans have been experiencing several veh problems...exorbitant amount of bogging even on roads, vehs that stop for no reason and just sit and wont move with no indication they are bogged or immobilized yet. As for the US (Russian) side calling in artillery has been a chore especially with the off-board 81 mm Mortar....its spotter called it in for a specific target and it took 15 turns to arrive...and of course not on the location....but for 14 turns this barrage could not be "adjusted" or "ceased"...it constantly said it was "busy" to the spotter and to other potential spotters it said "denied" of course and it would show who the original spotter was for the barrage. The US has also had INF throw their arms into the air as if surrendering but still be able to spot the enemy locations for the US side even though they are surrounded by Germans for several turns! We are just wondering, George, if you have designed this scenario to make sure most vehicle movement to be a tedious task, especially for the Germans, and artillery contact or lack of to be an issue for the US to reflect an added "realism" to this scenario? We like several other CMBN players feel the bogging/immobiliztaion results in the whole game system by BF needs to be tweaked a bit so its not so easy to get bogged so it reflects a more realistic result and we're wondering if this is the game's influence or you over-tweaking it for this scenario to reflect a very muddy environment in this map? Oh, by the way, I hope my US reinforcements don't delay...I sure could use them anytime soon.............
  22. I agree it appears obviously Curtis did not play the game much before making his review. We all have struggled with our mice learning how to move about the map etc when first playing the game. I am sad to see that Curtis did not tip his hat to Battlefield for designing another game that encourages and allows modders to take their games to a higher "true realistic level" while the big companies that are glutting the on-line multi-player market like EA and Activison are dumping shoot-em-up games on the majority calling them "realistic". The only "modders" we see on the EA and Activision sites are "hackers" and they have plagued those games since their inception unfortunately! So, for true realism I'll sit back and enjoy our BF games and keep downloading the great mods from our elite talented fans!
