  1. Ahhh! First battlefront, then ubisoft. Brothers in arms was supposed to ship today, but it's coming tomorrow! Ahhhh! I'm going to explode. But, maybe that's just cause of the dropped live frag in between my legs. Maybe tomorrow.
  2. Hehe, thunk...wait....wait.....wait....wait....flash.....wait....wait....wait....wait...BOOM! YAY!
  3. I was a bradley ODS driver, then a gunner. My mos is, and has been 11b, infantry. I was light infantry, then put on a bradley. We carried our m4's everywhere, especially when mounted for missions. There's a little nitch for your rifle to go, no matter where you sit. Our crew pulled top gun, then came in second the next table 8. All three of us shot sharpshooter and up, as well. Point being, it's not uncommon to find US soldiers good at being, well, soldiers. Especially when the adrenaline kicks in.
  4. I'll give it a go. The reinforcement idea I never thought of, albeit losing command of those troops. I was trying to use the MOUT infantry, but I took out the supply dvr/gnr, and replaced them with the AT buddy team from a squad. Gonna give those a try. Thanks, by the way. Much appreciated.
  5. Curious to see if anyone's had any luck in terms of 1114 operations. Examples being, a platoon organic raid, or an ied/efp triggered ambush. Biggest and most annoying problem I'm running into is fitting them into the 1114's. If you split the squad evenly, you get 5/4. And then, dismounting becomes a no go, cause you're losing the m2. And, blah blah blah. The closest I've gotten to making it almost work was using engineers, with supply driver/gunners. Anyone have any luck, suggestions?
  6. Our vic crews (US) do carry their rifles, you never know when you'll have to dismount.
  7. Sorry, kind of daft here today, add new TOE, that's what I was asking. Stupid acronyms. They don't own us.
  8. Any chance of the ability to add new unit trees? Example being, FCo/2BN/75Rgr (A) - 1st Pltn., 3x Assault, 1x HMG, 6x m1114, blah blah, and so on. If I am unclear, maybe the ability to add or redefine the organization of units? Example 2, ODA 5xx - 2x 6man teams, 1x CCT, Xx attachments. I heavily doubt you can, but figured I'd ask. It's starting to get hairy in the editor with renaming and retasking...
  9. Oh, BTW, downloaded patch twice from two different servers, same problem even after clean install.
  10. Same problem. CTD after 1.06 paradox. So sad, no problems until 1.06. If I'm not mistaken, seems we all are running on nvidias, though...just a thought.
  11. perhaps an op anaconda scenario, from oef?
  12. Right-o. My armor assets usually just end up getting in the way, by that I mean getting smoked, and my infantry do all the work. By the way...not a big fan of strykers. I like the good ole bradley. Stryker seems to be made of wood, cuase mine are always burning. Ha.
  13. Hell, today's army qualification standards require you to engage targets from 400m-900m, with a M249, or 240B, bipod. I guess the main reason it might not be modeled is target recognition. at 400m, with civilian population, it can be difficult to see who's who. Friendly fire, civi casualties, etc.
  14. So, here's a question. I'm an infantryman. I know all the in's and out's of my job, but haven't the slightest clue as to the role of armor, other than direct fire support. Seems I lose an unacceptable amount of armored assets every time I run CMSF. My groundpounders usually are primary with armor as direct fire support, but maybe I'm doing something wrong. The boots on ground make it, but the tankers usually live up to death before dismount. Wondering if this wonderful community could help out and shed some light on the tactics of armor, for this here crunchie. At least, tactics relative to CMSF.
  15. You were so very close with MEUSOC. It's Special Operations Capable. You all are familiar with 'Delta' Force, I'm sure. They are catagorized as Operational Detatchment Delta, (ODD) hence the name. ODAlpha's are the base of USArmy Special Forces. They consist of twelve man teams, each man in the ODA has a specific training, but all are crosstrained in case one goes down. Unlike Rangers, they do not adhere to "No Soldier Left Behind". They believe, and act on the Mission First principle, making them very reliable. Only within the recent years have they started to be used in a main role. I agree it's not in the best intrest of the game to focus on such units, but I only ask they be included in the game itself, available to the community, and modders. If anyone can get their hands on any declassified works, printed, or otherwise, about these men, and the role they now play, I would highly recommend it. Their story is not only amazing, but truly an interesting and graphic look at war from a much different point of view than you would find from conventional units. If you are interested, drop me a line, or pm me, and I'll point you in the right direction. De Oppresso Liber
  16. I personally would love to see ODA actions, examples being Debecka, Iraq, Operation Anaconda, Afghanistan, etc. I mean, having one or two (possibly more) ODA's on site, is very, very reassuring as a commander. And, what's so wrong with waiting around a while, just to make the perfect shot? Sure, the waiting isn't very exciting, but after you take that shot, now you must exfil, or, if things go really wrong, E&E. But, I don't think having your men E&E would be plausible for this game. Sigh. Maybe one day... The MEUSOC's are still quite...conventional. And the Rangers....I mean.....they're.....Rangers...c'mon. Well, I've prolly just pissed off quite possibly the majority of the forum base. Awesome. Nice to meet you all. :c)
