Sorry, no more ideas here - I'll have to go and see if I can get the same results. Did you have any particular parameters set when you created the original map?

    Cheers.

I was able to select planes as denfender when I adjusted it to "allied probe" but maybe it was something else I dont remember changing at the same time?

    Parameters in editor were.

    -June 44

    -clear, mid-day

    -allied assault

    -defender dug in w/fall backs

nothing else I can think of that would effect it?

I even chose Luftwaffe Mechanized infantry as my division type...but I think it was the same with all division types.

this might happen when you convert a map, change setup-zones or change the Attack/defend parameters. It suck, and I donĀ“t know if I can be altered.

By convert do you mean make the map available for

QB's? It's so annoying because I can't very well send it to my opponent and say "sorry but you will have to sift through a giant stack of your units to deploy them." hahahaha he would hate me!

Thanks for your suggestion, maybe I will readjust in editor then convert it again?

  3. 1.I have made a map to be used in a QB or Scenario. I want to do a QB so my opponent can choose his own units.

The map is designed to have the allies assaulting an axis airfield. I want the Axis (defender) to have Air Units attacking the allies as they advance.

But when I set the parameters in the QB to "Allied attack -or- assault" I can't seem to pick Air units when purchasing Axis units. Then when I switched it down to "allied probe" I was able to buy planes.

Is this correct? If so, how could I use my map, choose our own units using "attack or assault" points ratio and still select air units as the defender?

    2. I have the allied setup designated but when I test the map in a QB using HOTSEAT, all allied infantry units I purchase come on map in the neutral zone in one clump all on top of each other, not in the allies setup zone where the rest of the tank and vehicles are?

    Stumped....thanks

  4. Hi guys.

I have made a map to be used in a QB or Scenario. I want to do a QB so my opponent can choose his own units.

The map is designed to have the allies assaulting an axis airfield deep in the woods.

    Thanks

I am having a heck of time finding this narrow command/target line mod which sounds so good.

Can anyone link me directly to it or give me a hint as to the search keywords? I have tried everything and still no success.

    Cheers

*EDIT* I found the mod by .bmp search. It is .bmp #2020 located in the CMBO mod section.

Not sure if it will work with CMBB & CMAK but will soon find out.

  6. For some time now, when I click on any icon in the lower interface taskbar ( like "DONE" after watching a turn or "BRIEFING" to review orders ) it drops out of game and goes to the desktop.

If I click DONE it also goes to desktop and has registered the "Click" as clicking on the taskbar on my desktop, in this case directly over my VOLUME control, which is open when it sends me to desktop.

Then I click on the CMBB tab in the desktop taskbar which is still running, re-enter the game and I am then able to click on the CMBB taskbar icons and they work.

Any ideas what may be happening here? Note, this does not occur in CMAK.

    Thanks

So definately, there is plenty of war left to fight.

You found the campaign link I see, the recruiting staff will take it from there.

    Thank you Bigduke6!

Have been looking over the forums and it sounds like you have gotten everything off to great start.

This will be my first campaign and I am really looking forward to getting involved!

Yes the campaign is still rolling, the fighting is quite intense. We currently have about 12 battles in progress, in terms of time we are finishing up the third turn of a 24 turn campaign.

There is room for a new player or two on either side.

For more information check out the web site:

    http://the-battle-of-lauben-campaign.foren-city.de/

    Or contact me directly at:

    stefankorshak@yahoo.com

Also, while I'm recruiting, the campaign could use a GM or two during the battle production phase. We have automated manufacturing a good number of .cme scenario files fast, and rules arguements are pretty much settled. But a couple of extra pairs of hands to help make battles, and then to do AARs, would definately be appreciated during the crunch period.

I would like to join the action, 3rd of 24 battles....wow still lots of war to be had!

I will email you BigDuke and check the campaign link.

Well thats good news considering the great number of Stuarts & Greyhounds I have at my disposal. The 37mm is a single shot weapon correct? I would have though an automatic / 3 round burst weapon would be better suited for that job.

I need to better familiarize myself with all this new armor in CMAK me thinks.

    Thanks

Changes to bitmaps have zero impact on anything apart from your own personal enjoyment of the visuals.

Oh, there's one exception. If you play with bases off and do a really good job of applying camo, then you may tend to overlook units that blend in with the forest. But that will only have an impact on you, not your opponent.

    Thats what I'm asking Phillip.

Should my personal enjoyment of the visuals via updated graphics / bmp's (installed in the form of CMETO) come into effect mid-game of a PBEM match begun using the original CMAK installation?

  11. Well I finally got my rear in gear and installed CMETO.

I did a seperate install and tried loading a PBEM CMAK game already in progress with my new CMETO install.

Should the mods be in effect or does the game need to be created using CMETO to begin with?

( this feels like a silly question  )

(what hex grid are you referring to!?)

I don't recall which grids exactly I am using, but they look fine overall. It did take some getting used to but they are quite helpful.

The ability to toggle the grids on/off would be the ultimate, but the game cannot accommodate that as far as I can see.

    1. yes - no surprise the 105 mm HE OBA is not effective versus the concrete bunkers. One pillbox took two direct hits and the crew kept playing cards and telling jokes.

    2. in lieu of smoke, for the ones near or in buildings, dropping the building does nothing to the bunker but the dust will blind it for a turn or few.

    3. So far, this is the best battle/op I have played yet for allowing bunkered ATGs to dominate the battlefield, thanks to the large map and height advantage. They've racked up fourteen vehicles in two battles.

We are just about to start the third battle.

Interesting, this is my first operation and I agree the ATG's in bunkers are a force to be reckoned with.

I have opted for a different approach, that is eliminating one of the pillboxes at night and approaching the others outside ( or nearly ) of their firing arcs.

I only hope i have not left myself too little time to take the main objective.

Well I'm just wrapping up the 1st of 3 battles in the operation. The next battle takes place at night. I'm planning an infantry assault on one pillbox that has a big firing arc across the battlefield. If sucessful this will grant me control of one flank and further extend my deployment zone for the 3rd battle.

From there I can assault the main objective from outside the firing arc of at least 1 of the 2 remaining ( or spotted so far ) bunkers.

I've got a sizable force of Free French under my command and have spent the entire first battle carefully claiming much of the map and moving infantry into position for the night assault.

I'll let you know which of your pillbox busting techniques works best!

So, how did it go? </font>

Sorry Philippe, my use of the word "prettiest" (which was actually the first time ever typing that word on a keyboard ;) ) was an attempt to make you all smile.

You could substitute it for say "realistic", "authentic" or "awsome"! After all CM does recreate "realistic and authentically awsome" WWII action! I think it says that on the box, and if it doesn't it should. :D

  16. I've had CMAK for about 3-4 weeks now. I am just beginning to explore the vast number of mods out there to enhance the look and feel of the game.

If anyone cares to indulge me, I would like to see screen shots of your modded versions of CMAK to see what is possible.

So far I have only loaded a terrain grid mod, which is quite helpful but does NOT pretty the game up much! ;) Next on my list is a modded interface, I think the name of a nice one is "Tarkus Dark Steel", but that may have been for CMBB.

    Cheers!
