Anyone use the virtual network program HAMACHI ?
It's free, easy to setup a network and could be what we are looking for...assuming the games LAN works with it, I don't actually own the game yet

Too bad it seems like an evolutionary step backwards at the moment.

Gentlemen, sit back and allow me to clarify somthing for you all.
You CAN create a map / scenario and have each side select their own forces, here's how.
1-Create map
2-set scenario parameters ( optional I think...)
3-start quick battle (PBEM is what I assume you will all be playing)
4-set game parameters
5-when the configure map screen appears select "load from file"
6- select force spending the amount of points you allocated in the game parameters
7- send game to opponent and enjoy!
Hope this helps

Hey guys, just a quick question
I made a map, and it is geared for an axis attack. They are attacking along mountain roads, over bridges, through villages and passes..which will make it harder for the attack than even a normal attack does.
I want to limit the Allies (defenders) points compared to Axis (attackers) so that it will be more balanced.
Is this acheived by
1-loading my map in a quick battle as a custom map from file
2- setting the points at say 3000 with allow player to choose forces
3- setting the handicap at either Allied +30% or Axis-30%
im not sure what the difference is, or if this is what I should do.
Thanks in advance, and if anyone would like to try this map in a pbem let me know, im very proud of it!

I just witnessed / inflicted my first tank kill with a FlameThrower team (axis).
Krept up a steep hill under the LOS of a T-60 Light Tank on an urban map, hit it with one burst of the flame thrower and KA-BLOOIE!
My opponent was surprisingly not as impressed with the whole ordeal as I was?
Coolest thing I have seen yet in this game.

As I am playing CMSF for about the 3rd time, it suddening dawned on me that, " Hey, this camera is very easy to control with the mouse alone!"
With all the bad mouthing CMSF is receiving, (much of which is warranted for now...) I think you have to appreciate some of things they have done well the first time around, example: Mouse camera control.
*the best is UNIT LOCK view, then getting down near eye level and looking left and right as they advance...so cool!
