Claimed to be Abrams destined for Ukraine rolling eastward somewhere in Germany.

Apparently Ukrainian crews will continue their training for a bit until the vehicles are full ready at their destination.

I wonder if the M1028 Canister shell would be of any use in clearing trenches? Probably not, because everything seems to happen at abolute maximum range. On the other hand, sometimes tanks are seen doing extremely close assault (I remember that one video of a Ukrainian T-series driving right over a Russian dugout after shelling it two dozen times).

I am hopeful that 1.) these have the ability to fire German DM11 (USMC M1A1s do) and 2.) big stocks of such will be provided.

Post says this is a pair of UKR T series tanks doing shoot and scoot.  One is very nearly hit by return fire at the 1:30 mark.  Thankfully they both appear to bug out successfully.

Posting as a link because all these tweets are flagged as restricted.  There's nothing R18+ in this one.

Crazy.  Looks like the HEAT jet actually hit the side of the tank.

That statement alone sends shiver up the spine.  And I know you damn well mean it, you have every right to…but, shivers.

This is ridiculous. This has already happened repeatedly through normal judicial processes following liberation of territories. I can’t think of a single proven example of extrajudicial violence against civilian collaborators by the Ukrainian government or military.

As soon as that first PGM goes off, they were PGMs or crazy good shooting, the infantry just start running. It would seem the vatniks have learned the signature for when the Ukrainians are serious about taking a particular spot, and just bug out when they see it. It didn't seem to do this lot much good. I don't think most of them had time to regret their life choices properly.

Edit: Terrible news about the pilots, The price Ukraine pays for the West being slow and timid just keeps going up.

    Looks like Excalibur.

Yeah, that shot looks like it went to the left of the leading tank. Somewhat inconsiderate if the lead driver had the time to dismount his stricken tank.

The real question is: Where did the previous shot (0:42) from the same offender go? I see no impact in the back of the lead tank, but I struggle to think where else it could have gone. Perhaps over? Regardless, the gunner in that rear tank is a liability.

The earlier vid of this incident shows some rounds fired blind from within the dust / smoke striking further down the tree line.

There's a puff at the back of the tank, the front of the tank, and then a detonation a dozen meters or so ahead of the tank.  The explosion certainly indicates it didn't go through the tank first, but then what are the other two puffs?  Passed the round UNDER the tank??

    Steve

Explosion is first, with fragments hitting the tank and around the tank, followed by more dust / smoke kicking up on and around the tank.  Actual point of detonation is forward and left of the tank by a bit.

With airpower not being a factor, and cluster munitions introduced mid way thru the offensive post war analysis should produce the cleanest data we could ever ask for about their effectiveness. Hopefully that data will end the careers of the people who didn't send it sooner.

The “civilian truck” incident (aftermath seen in thread previously I believe) and the discussion of different wounds makes me think a lot of this commentary is about M30A1 specifically, not the newly introduced legacy DPICM.

On 2:28 something big has exploded - maybe remote controlled IED, which Russians activated too late, when the tank already passed this place.

The tank is dragging something behind it at the start. Hard to tell if still present when camera is zoomed in on tank firing, but I think I can still occasionally see the rope / chain / entangled wire.  Extremely aggressive form of smoke screen?

  9. Probably navigation lights getting amplified by the low-light B/W video camera.  What is likely dim portholes also appear as bright lights.  Another symptom of Russia not being on a true war footing.  Civilian traffic probably operates as normal in the port so you can’t really run warships in and out without normal navigation safety measures.
