You are absolutely right, I actually think both should really be possible. Moreover one should be able to control vehicle and squad inventory like in CMx1. I was just trying to find ways to work with what we have right now until this is worked out.

Reading my posts again they don't sound very friendly, so I apologise for that, in case anyone got offended. I agree that my solution only works in some situations.

In addition I'm not very happy with the default QBs, so right now I'm going to download some more. So far I've only used the QBG ones for PBEMs, they were excellent.

P.S.: By the way, is there a reason why TSD2 doesn't have a CMSF section?

  2. Ok, I liked it for what it is, a short and easy mission, plays out like a movie, not much work to do in the positive and in the negative sense.

Firstly I had to rename the file (used v1.1) because the extension was ".1btt" instead of ".btt".

I got a total victory in 20 minutes despite losing 3 Abrams. In my opinion you should give red additional points for M1 kills.

Without revealing too much I first though that it was a too straighforward mission, but you do have a nice little surprise in there.

As you said yourself the action starts immediately. I prefer the setup zones and reinforcements not to be in enemy LOS. The terrain is a little too flat for my taste. I wonder why the Iraqi commander couldn't find a better place to set up his defense.

I took note of the mines from the briefing, did you design the riverbed/mines the way you did on purpose?

The battle is good for a nice little R&R and to watch some fireworks. You could tweak some minor things to make it more challenging, e.g. award extra points to red for kills, change the terrain a little to allow ambushes, give red some artillery if you want (even though the AI doesn't use it very effectively) and maybe do something about the minefield.

Thanks for the scenario, I enjoyed it. Hope you're having fun designing more.

Was that T72 the high end TURMS-T kind ? These are tough as heck, I had one of these take four to five Javelin hits before being disabled or knocked out. I think its their newer reactive armor or something, but these seem to take a beating pretty well.

I'm not sure what variant it was, I'll have to check that when I get a chance. But its my understanding that Javelin should be able to defeat any known armor especially when using top-down attack mode where armor is normally much weaker. </font>

I had the same problems initially. Now I left-click/move mouse and ctrl-left-click to move around, right-click/move mouse to pan the camera and use the scroll wheel for adjusting height. Works like a charm. As much as I still don't really like the orders menu I really like the new camera controls.

BTW I never used the camera control buttons in CMx1. Well, at least not since playing Valley of Trouble for the first 10 minutes... ;)

I concur, at first I didn't get to grips with the new system but soon I started trying to use the CMSF camara controls in CMBB and CMAK. I totally agree about the orders as well.

Closest I have figured out is assigning airpower to blue side before switching to red vs. red. This gives one side American airpower that they can use (I think) but the other side (true red) is high and dry.

I had to substitute an Apache for a Hind in this Tonali scenario I'm making, but they are really two completely different aircraft and it really doesn't seem right.

Can't you give both sides air support in a Blue vs Blue battle, then change it to Red vs Red?
