  1. Yes, I am INDEED EXCITED! But i will have to buy either an IntelMac or a PC Desktop, nevertheless I AM buying this game even if I have to install it on a Friends computer temporarily! Congrats... this is great news. I didn't see Specs listed yet... is that correct? if you are in Beta it shouldn't be long now... just time enough for me to save up for a new machine...
  2. It's Just that the Drawing in the Puzzle is SOOOO umm... Combat Mission !?!?!? But i'm not sure, maybe BFC's other Cover Art for Manuals are drawn by the same artist too... i've only purchased CM games from them before.
  3. I think it was annoying posts like this that kept the moderators busy as hell and made them step back. I think they made the correct decision. Step off the board and code and skin for a while and let it calm the hell down... because, seriously, they were spending/wasting TONS of time for a while with long detailed replies, moderating flamed threads, locking threads etc. etc. etc. We'll hear something soon, very soon. It really shouldn't matter that much... get a job or go outside or something. Is there a german word for Troll? Trollische!?
  4. Not a bone but maybe ear-lobe cartlidge? a whisper...
  5. It's a strange new world out there in Techland. http://ct.news.com.com/clicks?c=1954261-73038289&brand=news&ds=5&fs=0 [ April 05, 2006, 12:31 PM: Message edited by: VonWebb ]
  6. Drop the bad feeling about Macs and CM2. They are dedicated to putting CM2 out for the OSX. It just won't be simultaneous release. Of course it doesn't matter now buy your Intel Mac and with the BOOT CAMP download released by Apple TODAY you can officially Boot into XP, not lose any performance capabilities and play anything you want. http://ct.news.com.com/clicks?c=1954261-73038289&brand=news&ds=5&fs=0 Imagine that! An official Dual-boot Macintosh/Windows... Not a Hack.... Whoodathunk!?
  7. Regardless, it is a good suggestion... and what with the mild winter that this has been?! Hell, maybe he makes the 11 posts daily at work --hence the consistency -- and then heads out for a 10 mile run daily. Right Dorosh? [ January 31, 2006, 09:12 AM: Message edited by: VonWebb ]
  8. It has crossed my mind too MikeyD. Believe you me. I'll wait till we hear a bit more about the Intel Mac before i make that purchase though. The rumor mill rumors Apple to be ahead of schedule a bit.
  9. REQUEST FOR MACOSX ONLY TITLE How about CM:AA? Combat Mission:Antietam to Appomattox Battlefront: may we have civilians represented by large bosomed southern-belles and a module where Union troops raid the Jim Beam Factory in Kentucky? truly CM:AA (if you know what i mean)
  10. 33 here and don't have any kids so I am not playing chess or video games with them. My girlfriend doesn't like RTS, FPS, WeGo or computers for that matter and damn it--TRY AS I MAY TO NETWORK MY COMPUTERS AND SIT HER DOWN BEHIND A KAR!--she hates the sound of gunfire! I am however a private tutor and I agree with the earlier statement that at a younger age most kids don't like to live with mistakes and would rather bolster an army/breed orcs and go googly eyed at eye candy (i do too!). I mean christ ever try to play CMBB with a hang-over? I have to be in top mental form to deploy... and well i'm always hung-over so... well not as much as i USED to be...
  11. I really don't play Single Player games anymore. When I purchase a FPS style game, like COD:UO i am purchasing it for the Multi-Player environment only: that way I get the brains behind the player. It's all about the server you're playing on really. Are there a bunch of TKing brats? Or a bunch of 25-35 year old tactical thinkers? I too get bored with the A-->B-->C linear gamestyle and am just waiting to be able to breach a hole in some wall, where ever the hell i want to and ambush enemy troops, rather then be told to what to do and be forded into enemy fire, but i can't shoot through that wooden door?!?!?!?!?. At least with multiplayer tactical realism I can get some kicks! I am anxiously awaiting CMSF! I can't wait to see what they have cooked up; I was introduced with CMBB after researching WWII gaming. I wanted a diferrent sort of game. Unfortunately, my computer rarely gets booted into MacOS9 anymore. I might have to build a Windows machine just for the occasion. Why the hell not? Maybe work will have bought me a hot shot PC by then who knows. I might not be able to wait for the Macintosh release, who knows they might suprise us though.... sooner than later? -Lon
  12. My friend's boss @ Barnes and Noble Corporate Data Center already had OSX running on his intel win-doze machine. My friend said, unfortunately, it was very slow, AND wild to see. The intel machine is going to have to be a monster of a machine to run that.... I doubt Apple will stab themselves in the back though... -LoN
  13. I find it paradoxical that Warmonger2005 should complain about modern warfare. WARMONGER2005 <---
  14. PERFECT I am laughing my A*! off. Rolling on the FLOOR laughing, without the use of an acronym. good one RMC!
  15. What a WONDERFUL METAPHOR! A Microcosm! A Trope! I dig it J Ruddy, i dig it.
  16. Hey Sergei, Thanks for the suggestion. I try to limit my game playing as it is a complete waste of time, lol! Oh, and Macosx does that too as there aren't as many titles out... (thank god/mixed blessing) Wow, I would be probably making MILLIONS of dollars presently if I hadn't put as many hours into gaming as i already have! I'd certainly be in better shape . *Sips wiskey* -Von Webb
  17. Oh, I don't know. It's just a Game really and FPS is fun on Multiplayer. I really don't play the SP campaigns. I find a good modded server with tactical realism and try to blow up the German 88 without dying (more than not i die ). I don't really expect it to be "REAL" as long as it looks good and the troops have a decent amount of variable movements (lean, prone, sprint etc etc). If i wanted it to be REAL then well, there is a recruitment center down the street ... Listen it's 2005, I played the first Space Invaders when it came out and now we are running through fully rendered terrain in 3D.I'm not going to complain. Maybe i'll move to the 100 mile wilderness in Maine and not come out for 20 years, and when i do return in 2025 i'll go right to the newest gaming console or PC and see what's new, i'll be 53 and have a heart attack and die at the first arty/tree burst above Foy.... (that is if they are still making world war II games and haven't moved on to WW III  ) -Von Webb Kafka [ October 11, 2005, 11:00 AM: Message edited by: VonWebb ]
  18. Well, I certainly haven't posted here in a long long time. However, I have been patiently WAITING for this anouncement for a very long time. Now it is here and i am pleased. I too am a WWII fan, but presently, regardless of your political views, there IS a war on (i personally disagree with it (or at least the way everything has been handled-->hence present situation  )), and there are commited troops, and there have been many many casualities and one thing still exists:tactics! If you want a little sense of what is going on over there, here is your chance. If not well then don't buy it. I think BFC has been very clear FOR A LONG TIME that the first title was NOT going to be WWII!!! God, like a year and a half ago this was clear from some of their first posts. I am not a software developer. BFC is, and if they say that this will allow them to make a better WWII game when they get to it then by all means "SHOCK FORCE" away! I'll set the road side bombs! I'm just phyced to have a CM game that runs native on MACOSX. YAY! No-Reboot! Now if i can just get all those classic VSTs replaced... -Von Webb Kafka CONFUCIOUS SAY: GET OFF YOUR SOAPBOX [ October 11, 2005, 10:33 AM: Message edited by: VonWebb ]
