Don't count me out yet, Sir 37mm. Despite my once-a-month turn sending, I am still prepaed to once again use my powers of investigation for the glory of the Peng Challenge Thread.

Though I have come to no conclusive... conclusions, I have several leads which I am working on, all of which will surely allow me to make some sort of numbered list in the future. I examined the Why Isn't CM2 listed in "Under Development"? thread for clues as to what the production of CMx2 has to do with this. The questions raised therein about CMx2's production are strangely mirrored when you scroll down and look at the list of all the private forums that we civilians aren't allowed to visit. There's one for Drop Team, one for CMC, and such, but none for CMx2, and none of the secret code-word forums like Aurora that they used to have - just the Skunkworks, which, if I recall correctly, is always up. In reality, I see little evidence that CMx2 is actually in production. It should have been out by now, there's no visible progress being made, anything. The next question after that is, what is BFC doing instead of making CMx2. I do not know the answer yet, but I suspect that it will have great importance for the Peng Challenge Thread.

  2. Sigh... duty calls, I suppose.

The Justicariate post announcing the creation and membership of the F.I.S.A. committee can be found here, second post from the bottom.

Amazingly enough, Sir 37mm's claims may be legitimate.

The problem is one of wording. Did the Justicar mean Sir 37mm to represent the foreigners and be Chairman, or did he mean for Boo Radley to both be Chairman and represent the Justicariate? The language (specifically, the meaning of the "and" I italicized) makes this a little unclear.

Do we need a new committee to rule on who is the actual Chairman of the F.I.S.A. committee?

Boo Radley, Juan_gigante & NG Cavscout... your opinions please?

I too have requested updates on the Seanachai-rleete-stoat situation, both on April 24th and again on May 11th after a similar information request by Boo Radley. On neither occasion was the requested information provided, to my knowledge.

rleete must be held accountable to the power of the F.I.S.A. court, and Seanachai must be, to the degree that an Olde One can be held accountable to anything.

However, I feel that awarding the lad to Mace is a poor idea. After all... it's Mace. And though stoat is a bad enough serf to warrant little coddling, throwing him to the Oddstralians is just cruel.

There are a few other options available. We could award stoat's squireship to the Justicar himself, to ensure a proper Justicarlicious upbringing for the lad - if the Justicar were willing to accept. The boy could also be made a joint squire of the F.I.S.A. court. Though non-traditional, it is an option. I'm sure that my fellow court members also have ideas.

    JasonC and BFC,

With CMC on the way, it seems to me eminently logical that a patch be issued to address at least the known glaring deficiencies in CMBB (and presumably now also built into the CMC engine). I'm talking about demonstrably wrong (as in way short) ammo loads, incorrect armor thicknesses and slopes, apparent projectile modeling problems, etc. Fixing even these would be a big help, but it would be really nice to have multiturreted tanks, dust, and some key vehicles we didn't get the first time (for reasons of disc space) included. It would also be nice if we could get serious artillery (122, 152, 203 howitzer) for on board DF fire a la Battle of Berlin. FWIW, I still think Katyushas in DF should be included.

    Regards,

    John Kettler

I'm fairly sure the the authorities have stated that the only patches to CM:BB will be those absolutely necessary to make CMC work. That means no corrected armor values and such, and certainly no new units. I understand the "No new units" rule (it would be a pain, I guess), but I really think that there are some serious and simple changes to be made in certain areas, like those mentioned in this thread.

    What's the story, Joe?

You know he's (Meaning Stoat, that is) not getting any younger.

(If he were, he'd have to change his name to Zygote or somefink.)

Ahem. I asked the very same question just recently, and received no answer. If we can get the Justicar on board, we will have the full weight and power of the Justicariate working to unconver this mystery. Which is... something, I guess? I've had far too many beers now to undertake the sort of investigation that the Justicariate would consider worthy, but I think that at least a status report is long warranted.

And yet another apology to my long-suffering PBEM opponents. You will receive e-mails soon enough.

Mace you're just a cheap slut. You'd actually go against your own Beloved Justicar for Life of the Peng Challenge Thread, your writing partner with whatever the hell that campaign was, your gaming opponent over many fun filled days DURING WHICH I LET YOU WIN ... for a beer?

    Have you no shame?

I once again unleash my super powers of past-Peng Thread research. The only statements on this by rune on this were:

Here, about 2/3rds of the way down, we see from rune:

Actually you are both very close. I'll reward both of you if no one gets it 100%. The full picture you can tell better, but it was cropped to fit the web page. Will wait a day.
With "both of you" being Bugged and NG cavscout.

And, a better record of rune's intentions is found here, halfway down, where he says:

    No Good Cavscout ,

You and Bugged will have the invite and the alcohol when the time comes. Also, send the photos to me.

I could send a screenshot of the UI of CMSF, but then you may enjoy it, and besides, I'd rather torture the members here.

    Rune

One can draw what conclusions one will from this, but this was everything on the specific topic of reward distribution.
