  1. Gpig that is very intersting. Not sure what the issued would be....I know with vista i have to select compatability files to see the file in the folder but that doesnt effect it in the game...not sure at all. i can send you the file again if you would like.

Erwin and mjkerner I have sent you guys an email with the scenario.

boche- I would love to check it out, but I wont get to it until at least next saturday. but send away!!

  2. I've finally finished a scenario I had been working on prior to NATO coming out and would like some feed back before I post it to the Repository. I've played so many times that I feel that I am no longer objective enough to fix any problems plus I'm always up for hearing what others have to say.

USMC LAV unit is tasked with capturing a crossing over the Orontes River. Its based off an idea I got from watching Generation Kill.

Blue vs. AI or H2H (although it was not tested in anyway shape or form for H2H).

  4. Im not sure how UAVs would be fielded in a "hot" war but when it comes to CAS whats the difference whether its a UAV or an Apache....to me if I see I have an Apache I know that the load out will be greater than a UAV can hold plus it still has 30mm...even the Kiowa has a .50 cal. The intel aspect of the UAV would be more important to me as a ground commander. Having a real time image/video of the battlefield would be great and UAVs do provide that, but Iraq and Afganistan dont provide ideal operating environments for that to be tested. Ak rounds just dont reach that high. For what its worth I think that having UAVs in a "hot" environment would require that very few ADA systems were available to the enemy....just a thought.

  5. I would think 6 minutes would be reasonable even for Syrians. If airpower is available I have always viewed it as circling above or in an "on call" status. There are no GPS guided munitions that I know of for the Syrians so the prep time is more of a conversation between the FAC and the pilot. Pilots aren't as smart as they seem, really they like working with basic directions and pictures.

    Might go like this....

Red 1 this is Brother 21

    Brother 21 go ahead

Target is 500 meters north west of the village. Target is an armored vehicle located next to a palm grove and a large building with a blue roof.

The building with the blue roof next to the road and trees?

    Roger.

    Target in sight.

    Cleared hot.

    BOOM

  6. Hey LLF

I'm curious as to how many hours you think you have put into this project? It's incredible! Excellent work. I've made a few maps here and there and can understand how tiresome they can be to make but in all honesty I feel that the map is one of the key ingredients in a scenario. Some scenarios have the ability to suck the player into almost complete emersion because of the detail.

I'm in awe and humbled by what you have accomplished here.

Good luck, can't wait for the map to be released!

  7. So playing around in a QB my German GMG team engaged a group of UNCONs and I noticed that all the grenades were airbursting above them. This is awesome! On another note I don't recall if this was in the British module even though they use the same weapon. Does anyone know?

  8. No worries! You may be able to help with this though: for the Shilka ZSU-23-4, is that considered a medium air defense weapon or light? I can't find a good refence for it as all the icons listed in the manual seem to be fixed and not tracked....here are some pics of what I think it should look like:

    CMShockForce2010-10-2621-57-57-65.jpg

This shows the icon as a medium air defense gun.

    CMShockForce2010-10-2621-59-42-78.jpg

And this shows a medium air defense gun with tracks.

If it were light it would be only one hash mark. Again the manual doesn't give eamples of caliber size for light, medium, and heavy.

  9. I'm going to add to this instead of starting another thread....I had preordered the NATO module on the 14th of October...the game came out on the 20th of October and here it is the 26th of October and I have already received the CD for the game. I am very happy with the quick turnaround of release and delivery and just wish to express my appreciation!

    Good job BF.C!!!!
