I see that currently the shellholes are just looking like a black or brown color on the ground. Do they have any defensive value to them for infantry?
If not is this planned in the future?
Are small entrenchments (foxholes) in the works?
Thanks,,
I saw a picture of medium German halftrack with a single machine gun. I was wondering if there will be variants in the works for this or future releases of ToW? Or for that matter, any variants for German armor?
My first post was ref to tank crew being open hatched for better vision or manning the Anti aircraft machine gun.
I can remember reading Michael Wittmann spending much of many armor battles with his head poking out the hatch to have a better view of the battlefield.
I agree with Sigrun
"German commanders kept the hatch open and their head out at all times other than when enemy infantry was in close proximity. Soviets almost always kept their hatches closed. This was one of the reasons why the Germans had such a huge kill-ratio superiority on the eastern front "
Will we be able to construct construct and safe scenarios? I have 100s of old Advanced Squad Leader scenarios that I would love to plug into ToW.
If this is something that is being looked at I think players will need to be able to alter the quailty of troops, amount of ammo ect..
I think the ability to occupy buildings is a factor that should be included in the game to make it more realistic.
I can remember stories from my uncle fighting in Italy. Clearing out snipers from the upper levels of buildings and machine guns from basements built like bunkers. When the shells started falling he and his squad were running into the lower levels of a stone house and not running out into the fields.
Will tanks be able to truly conduct violent over run attacks? Seems that WW2 was full of examples of tanks (especially Russians) crashing into buildings, crushing anit-tank guns or even spinning over foxhole to kill single soldiers. I have read about T-34s going one track into a trench to rid it of German infantry.
Thanks!
