It wasn't before Iraq, but for the US military it is now as much a part of the gear as the clothing underneath. Even non-combat units are required to wear armored vests when not on base.Originally posted by Battlefront.com:MD,

Well saidOriginally posted by juan_gigante:At least we have something. Do you remember the time before? Having 5 or so threads on the 1st page like "CMx2 Setting", "CMx2 & WWII", "How long until announcement?!?". I'd rather talk about modern desert warfare than go back there.
I think Steve hit the nail on the head "WWII burn out"

Outstanding work as usual

I would have to go with ASL in the board game categoryOriginally posted by Baneman:Forgot to mention that the BEST boardgame of all time ( for the micromanager ) is Starfleet Battles.
But you HAVE to love micromanagement.

1) CMAK
2) CMBB
3) War In The Pacific
4) Highway To The Reich
5) Close Combat V
CM gets the top spot, best investment in a entertainment sense I ever made. If I did the math I would be surprised if I have 1/10th of a cent invested per hour played over the years.
Now only if my broker would get me that kind of return on my investments

Matrix will only retail BIG movers, the cost of retail per game is crazy.Originally posted by Vanir Ausf B:Matrix does some retail. I bought a copy of Gary Grigsby's War At War at a retail store earlier this year.
And I did not see CMAK in any store in the states upond release, so whats the deal about big retail publishers. From Battlefront that sounds weird
Some of the all time wargames come out of small publishers, CDV lets get real their LUCKY to have ya
-
I would go with MatrixOriginally posted by Battlefront.com:So... in the future if our choice is between making a good deal with a German publisher and losing the Nazi stuff or going with an inferior publisher and keeping them... well... use your imagination which choice we'll make
Steve
That way you keep the Nazi stuff and the publisher is top notch, its a no brainer

I think Steve thouched on the subject of doodads in the "A little bit about buildings" thread.Originally posted by Pvt. Ryan:My guess is the new graphics will obviate the need for doodads as we know them. Maybe grass will be represented 1:1.

Thanks for the reply Steve

LOL"whose stars are you using?" -
Curious on how abstract CMX2 will be modeling structures.
Will we see
1)Basements
2)Stairwells
3)Objects such as furniture
4)Outdoor Objects such as lamp posts
5)Separate textures for indoors
How will we view indoors in a occupied structure
1)Cut away or transparent
2)Will we be able to remove roofs and walls from view
sorry if any of this has been covered in a previous thread

Best new release or Best of all timeOriginally posted by M1A1TankCommander:The BEST ww2 RTS game is on its way. Here is the link
Best WWII RTS
1) Highway to the Reich
*2) CC series
* A close runner up (just because of graphics)
the Armor was a joke in the CC series
Wow look at the art in the screen shots, any game that looks that good must be the most realistic RTS ever, I read it on the forums so it must be true

Mike I just came across this gem in a North Africa QB, forgot I had it installed.
I got to tell ya this is one of the best armor mods I have seen. The weathering is just jaw dropping.
Thanks!

I have toadmit, though, that ´Heroes: Soldiers of World War 2´ (aka ´Outfront´) REALLY impressed me. I´ve not yet managed to play every campaign and single mission (the UK campaign IS hard, after all), but it´s definitely a game worth a look - if just for playing not yet another RTS... and, maybe, the once called ´Wartime Command´ might prove to be an entertaining alternative. I have hope.
About a year ago over at that publisher's forums there was a mass BANNING . If CM came up in a thread it was LOCKED down, think the guy was calling him self Zzzzzz or something. Anyway if you remember back to the Flash Point release days and TOTAL lack of any support and BANNING of anyone that dared to ask a real question on the forums.
That is the most immature forum's I had ever seen.
