  1. Hi Guys, don't know if I'm in the right spot to start this thread, but hopefully some modder or techy from battlefront can enlighten me about this: I'm working on a 3d program to render images of flying flags, all blown out and weaving. So far so good, at least on CMBO and CMAK: they look OK. But oddly enough I have a few flags (NOT ALL OF THEM!) in CMBB which appear upside down (flipped on their vertical side)... I'm puzzled by the fact that until now only Hungarian, Finn and Soviet have this problem; I have flipped them in a paint program, and reloaded them upside down, but nothing changes... Any advice is most welcome! TIA Gen Vot Television
  2. Hei Guys (I should write wise-guys!), I follewed the advices of Cold Stell, on the first brilliant idea to withraw as fast as possible to he heavy buildings with the squads, letting the snipers slow down the advance of armored vehicles: Valentino Rossi was getting 2nd time in the MotoGP in Catalugna, while my HT crew got wild and proceeded (disobeying orders!) up to the road, and even farther, and had been immobilised and blown out to pieces... All in all a succesful mission, but the bridges may go in to the wrong hands if a more armed columns comes this way and our fly boys won't stop them cold, or the Spearheads come fast up the road (those sonnabitches;) )... Only after a Total Victory, I've read your message HarryInk, and I discover I've actually played the trade you're writing about. To prove you what I'm saying, if you don't mind, and to thank you both for the right advices I' sending in your mail the last Autosave... Have a look. Diego
  3. Tahnks Cold Steel, I'll try to apply your suggestions as to create a MRL around the building, and let them come across, and see the results... I can't remember if you have orders NOT to destroy the bridges: do you think it's a feasable (and useful) tactic anyway, or just a useless waste of demolition charges and men? I will let you know the results... Diego
  4. Hi All, I'm a conscript in the CM world, but I had been a veteran in ASL, and other computer's tactical games: so I'm asking some useful advices on this thorny small battle. I very much appreciate another battle from Bryan Marauder Melvin, St Anne's Chapelle, where I was able to resist the nazi-krauts, got a total victory after knocking out with the bazooka 3 of their 4 HTs, but hey! they were comin' in one after the other as sheeps on the hedge... AI sometime I call AS for Srtificial Stupidity... Anyway that was a nice map and atmosphere, fighting in the fog, with veteran troops. Now, in the Small Gain battle, that should be a training mission, I have no clue how to actually LEARN to survive, playing as the US against the Germans... Should I try to blow those bridges? I only tested this battle once, and got beated out, and they had also the ford to cover, poor bastards. I would appreciate very much any hint on how is it possible to use this scenario as a training battle. TIA Diego
  5. Tank you Sergei, I've checked out in the game as well as in the Valor edition (Small Unit and Partisan operations on the eastern front) of the battle... Actually I discovered the KV 2 as available as you write only in 1941-42 in the game... On the booklet I also found a picture of a disabled KV 2, but in the text it's not specified which one was blocking the german reinforcement to a German bridge head on the Northern front: they just write of a Soviet tank of the KV model... Yes, it seems the 150 mm on the KV 2 was considered an assault gun, and specifically I've read in this forum it was not allowad to use any other kind of ammunition other than HE: so no AP... Thanks again to bear with my approximate considerations...
  6. Errr, I apologise: I'm a new CM player, and I haven't realised the KV 2 is called (quite rightly) the KV 1 1940, or at least I've seen some mods for it... I have to go home and check in the game... Or is just a 'graphics' mod, and actually there is NO KV 2 tank 3d model in the BB? BTW I was always asking myself why the Soviets gave this tank the '2' definition, since I believe this was the first heavy tank used in battle, before replacing it with the KV 1...?
  7. Hi everyone! I've also read the report of that action on a small booklet about small units and partisans operations on the eastern front, but I cannot find any KV 2 model in the BB game... I know only some 300 tanks were made of this model in the late 30ties, but I would have liked to see that giant in a close quarter battle... For the designing of the scenario have you used the KV 1 model? The pity is that the KV 2 had a very powerful 105 mm gun which I don't believe can compare with the 75 mm the KV 1 used... Later.
  8. Hi to all! This is my first message to this forum: I've just lately discovered Combat Mission, and got all the three games, installed them, modded on the whole BO, and still enjoying the other two as they are, for the moment... I'm an old player of ASL and went through the V4V series and CC, but finally I'm happy I've found Battlefront Grognard. Just to revamp this thread, I would also agree the Asian war campaign would be an important and vast project the Battlefront team should enjoy to implement with their excellent game engine... The MODS are almost all there, thanks to Mike T, but still I believe there is no accuracy in the TOC, OB, and Armour tables for those theaters... Is there so much work to be done, in your opinions, to configure the datas to those differencies? Can you still play a realistic simulation when you use the datas of a T38 for a Japanese Light Tank? After all, you have just to chang a value here and there! OW, c'mon guys, let us play in the mud on Kokoda Trail, or take that bunch of dogs of the Thin Red Line up hill to take that bunkers on the Canal... Just kiddin'. Thanks anyway to Battlefront: they already have done a lot... And BTW, let's hope they will not sell the game to Microsoft, as Atomic did, and stop develope for Mac OSX as well, just to oblige us to go back to cardboards piles! All the Best!
