I just bought cmak yesterday,
Have played cmbb for the past 3 years ,,,
played the first mission of ak,

The base colour for all soviet military vehicles is a standard uniform **** green, It is very similar to the colour that permiates the lower bricks in a badly maintained, cinderblock cow barn with mould problems,
All variations are weathering , camoflage, dirt, or personal revenge against the bastards who applied the innitial coat of paint,
Exceptions to this rule are,,, Early war vehicles that were rushed to the front without paint (primer red, or bare metal) These vehicles would later be painted by crews if they survived, using whatever paint was available, But the most common paint was military standard , **** green,,
The soviets produced vast quantitys of this colour, and it was widely used for everything because it was so cheap, In many cases ,, the only paint available was the standard **** green,
When rust bubbles up through **** green paint ,, it turns brownish, like a bloody stool specimine that has been smeared across the surface and left to dry in the sun,

He was lazy and out of shape ,, so he sent the army to do it for him,

Mortars require direct LOS to a targeted unit,
Otherwise they can only use area fire,
Mortars cannot switch back and forth without a direct command from YOU,
A targeted enemy unit can drop from LOS by taking cover, or by hiding,
(my oppinion) Even with direct LOS You are best off using the area fire command,

Actualy Hitler never considered conquering the world , he had no such interest,, He was eager to conquer western Russia as far as the Urals, He saw the conquest of france as a strategic necessity,
He had no interest in Africa, But was dragged in by musolini,, He saw England as a potential ally, And was saddened that England didnt agree, He had no desire to cross the Atlantic ,
He had no Satanic dreams ,, but was a devout christian all his life, He hated the very name Satan, His mythical "super race' was not new ,, it was inspired by the bible, and was shared by ALL christian empires of the period, Hitler was a typical western christian bigot of his era, No more a criminal than any other bigoted colonialist leader,(although no less criminal either), He shared the same racial fantasys as Churchill and Truman,
And he treated his colonized subjects accordingly,

It can be fairly said that Hitlers decision to remove slavic peoples from the so-called "white" race, forced the rest of the "white" empires to question the racial myths they held, And this led to the end of official racism as a legal and moral "virtue" in democracy.
By admiting the German racial myths were both wrong and immoral, the great white democracys were forced to admit that their own racial myths were also wrong and immoral,

not under the circumstances of 1941
But imperialists seldom look past their own mythologys, so there is no way the german could have knowen what they were realy facing,,

my point is not that the armoured half track is a valid substitute for a tank,, far from it .
my point is that BY comparison the half track is MARGINALY better than an open truck
look at it this way, take 2 identical squads ,
put them in 2 vehicles set exactly 10 meters apart, one vehicle is a regular truck,, the other is a halftrack with that weak 10mm armour,
Now drop an 81 mm fragmentation round exactly between them, ie ; 5 meters from either vehicle,
Which squad would you rather be in?
Now ,, same 2 squads ,, same 2 vehicles , advancing along a road, ambushed by enemy infantry, at reasonable range,, ie; 50, to 500 meters,
which squad would you rather be in?
Would you rather be protected by a wooden frame or by 10mm of steel,

its not ammo,, its bursts of fire ,, the mg34 has a lower rate of fire ,, so its maximun possible ammo will last longer (more bursts) than the mg42

Like all self serving, manipulative, exploiters of human gullability. There are a few modern examples of the same thing. I could name a current head of state who would rather destroy several 3rd world countrys than face the risk of even one fat suburbanite having to give up their gas guzzling SUV, I'm sure Hitler was terrified of making a german houswife use margarine, And I've seen some of those german haufraus, GIVE HER THE BUTTER !

i have never used tanks against another human player, and i have come very near to beating a few ,, ask if he thinks he can hold out without tanks ,, it can be done

tutoring newbies , sounds like a good idea.
i did play a few hotseat games with a freind who had no clue ,, i got to see him make classic mistakes ,, and he got to see how i beat him,,
but to tutor someone via the web??? that sounds great, maybe i should try getting some truely good players to tutor me ,,, (yes i am a mediocre commander),
