  1. If it is gamey, then it is just barely gamey.I have never burnt a structure that had no enemy near it,to prevent a keyholed gun from being flanked(for example).

But,your second example is not gamey at all,IMO,except that you are able to determine pretty much exactly how damaged the structure is,and aprox how many more rounds it will take to bring it down;however, the same could be done IRL by simply observing the structure. Also,IRL,I would guess that you typically wouldn't want to destroy buildings as they may be useful to you in the future. Therefore, delaying their destruction would be logical, but if the enemy persisted in using them you would obviously destroy them.

  2. My opponent and I have just recently completed a scenario in which some of these things took place. My opponent,in an act of desperation, was area targeting out of a heavy building hoping for a possible "over-shoot" from his flamethrower so as to try and KO a nearby Stug. The first two "blasts" from his flamer never made it out of the building, instead they hit inside the building and by the second blast set the building on fire;the flamethrower was engaged and suppressed after that, though.Once the building was set on fire some of his other units that were in the heavy building came running out--to my delight :evil grin:

Later,I had a regular german flamer expend all 9 units of ammo area targeting an adjacent building to set it on fire, hoping to also make it unusable to his forces as the building was right near that flag. However,no such luck.Instead,I had to have my pioneers use their demos to destroy the building.

If I get a return file from you then we are on, if not we can try again some other time.

I haven't gotten it,yet, but I suspect that it will eventually show up.No worries, though. We will see how things go once the weather gets better.Hopefully the exchange rate will improve then.

Have you tried other dialup ISPs?Peoplepc isn't too bad,and it's like a dollar more per month.

Sergei,I think I am just going to surrender in our battle.I don't know what kind of sadistic, unmentionable things you are planning that takes a week(and counting)to do the setup, but I am thinking it is more than I can handle

Pseudo Send  the  setup  ,Maggot

  4. It's really easy, actually. You can play three forms of multiplayer CM:

1)Is hotseat, but you have to be essentially playing someone in person as you play it on the same computer(I think I have never done it before)

2)Is PBEM.Essentially, all you do is setup a quick battle, scenario,or operation like you normally would. However, instead of selecting single player, you select the play by email. Then you simply do the setup for the side that you picked and hit GO.The game will return to the opening menu screen where it will prompt you to name the PBEM file that you are about to create. The best thing to do is something like; "PBEM_001".Then you upload that PBEM file as an attachment into however/whatever you use to send emails, then send it to your opponent. They do their setup and everything just like you did and they change the files name to; "PBEM_002"...so on and so forth.

3)TCP/IP.For this it is pretty much like the other except that instead of 'hotseat','PBEM','single player',you select TCP/IP.You will need to know what your computers IP address is and you can find that here: What is my IP address? There will be a screen that will say "Waiting for opponent to connect" and it may or may not show your IP address there ,too. You then send your IP address to your opponent and when he connects you both will enter the game and play normally.

I really like multiplayer CM.To me,playing against a compotent opponent is way,way better than playing against the AI.I prefer PBEM as it gives you more time to plot orders and all that.

    Good luck!Have fun!

  6. Hmmm,I don't know either. There is nothing in the bulk folder, and spam filtering is set to 'off'.Are they bouncing back,or are they simply disappearing?Again, don't zip them.

I don't necessarily believe in fate, but sometimes it steps in and prevents me from playing against some people by inflicting email problems.I've never been able to figure it out,but I am not going to the extremes that I have in the past just to try and play.I don't know what to say.Maybe it will eventually clear up.

Are you a non-turn sender like most of the others

First we gotta discuss the rules. No gamey bastich stuff likes splitten all yer squads. No crying, whining or teeth gashing. And I only play smaller battles (800-2,000 points or so) as those 5,000 pointers give me a headache 'cause I am becoming an old fart (as we speak). </font>
  8. Abbott Maggot, nice website

Are you a non-turn sender like most of the others,or do you actually still like playing CM? If you have a decent exchange rate(atleast one turn per day, hopefully more),I would like a CMBB game,Maggot.I want to play someone that will beat my ass(in a somewhat non-gamey manner, but that isn't even a requirement);I have tried to find people that can.Unfortunatley,it almost always ends up with them abandoning the game when I start doing well.

If you would like added incentive,we could play for sigs,if need be.Or,I can(continue)to talk a lot of smack pre battle,so as to provide anger. But,I doubt that you can hang anyhow.*sigh* I'm sure it will be yet another(glorious)victory for me   Oh,and I am not talking about some little flag-chasing,chick-flick,slap-fighting,hair-pulling ,mamas-boy-wannabe,battle;I mean something with teeth.Something with atleast 5000+ points per side, maybe even an operation(advance/assualt,using play where they lay--within reason).

What do you say,Maggot?Reach down and grab that hairless, shriveled sack, squeeze some testosterone out of 'em and man up,Maggot!!! RGRGHAHAGRGRHAHHRGRGHAHHRG

    But,I don't want to pressure you into anything(hehehe) >:)

NO FECKING WAY!!!!!!!!!!! If I would have posted something like that there would be people in here holeering " You ****ing Gay Basher...I hate you and your dog!!!

I also say it is time we started bolding J. Ruddy's name in this thread. I know he is pretty new and really doesn’t deserve it yet but he loses PBEM games real good. </font>
