If i had the cost it should be doable.Originally posted by Europa:How about a function that picks out the most bang for the buck units? You enter the 200 points you have left to buy for and ask for the biggest badass gun you would be able to buy for it. And out comes top 3 suggestions.
No problem right?
Mabye in the future
But it would be a cool feature.

That would be great Dandelion.Originally posted by Dandelion:Folke,
I forgot to write I also think its a highly useful and well designed site. But that's what I meant
I'll see if I can't make readable brief historical summaries for the German units.

Looking forward to that, thanx!

Thanx, and the I will look in to the compare thingie.Originally posted by Slappy:This looks great. One feature I would love is the ability to compare units, that is pull up the stats for two or three units side by side on the screen. This would let you for example compare the differences between model varients or pull up vehicles from different sides to see how they match up. This is something that I use the scenario editor for today, but I find a hassle to have to.
Just a thought. Great site.
I guess that it will be on the "advanced" search tab

I for one would love to see comments along the lines of: "Usable in dence terrain but lack in ammo load out" "Fast and manouverable but a bit undergunned" "Avoid this crap despite the big gun" (could be a nashorn although it doesn't reflect my view on that part. unit) "Good bunker buster if you get it within reasonable range (maybe the AVRE?)" </font>Originally posted by Europa:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by Dandelion:
Date of introduction is listed on Folkes site. On each unit. The Crusaders arrive in September 42 it says.
No date of departure from OOB though. Well, none that I saw just now anyway.
Dates on availability - appearing and disappearing - are listed for ammo types I see.
But what to comment? It's all there really. What more would a QB player consider valuable information Folke?

Thanks for the those words!Originally posted by ParaBellum:That's a very nice site and a brilliant idea.
BTW are there any restrictions on the pics (size, resolution, format)?
And no, just upload the pics in what size, res and format of choice. When uploaded a script will change it to the size that fits.

I've updated my little site with a comments script.
So if you have any thoughts about a unit, historical info or just a good rant, don't hesitate to write it down.
I think that it will be of great help for noobs, (like me), when choosing units for a QB.
(Sorry for the shamless plug)

Bah, wrong forum..
Sorry.

I just wanted to say that you did a geat job with this book.
It is a book that you can pick up and read again,
just to read just about the battle that you are playing for the moment.

Humm, getting little bit tired over here..
Should edit my last message..
Replied instead..

Ok, I leave them like they are.Originally posted by Vergeltungswaffe:Directly under Country

Infantry is now added too.

Now all the "data" is in it's place.
Optimization and beautification can begin
-
Is it interesting to have some kind "tactics" text on the units?
Like Other Means suggested.
And I think that you don't want me to write those tactics
(It would be fun if "my tactics ©" were used..
Total chaos on the battlefield anyone.. )

Update.
Air Units is now in db.
What do you think is the best:
Have all unit types directly under the country.
</font><blockquote>code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">» Australia «
Air unit
Antiaircraft gun
Antitank gun
Antitank team</pre>

Small update.
Now you can upload ingame shot's of units to the db.
There is only one / unit.
And when one is uploaded it wents to pending until it's checked out..
We dont want that the Tiger got some pr0n pic at the unit page, or...
So, pls feel free to upload some cool ingame shots.

In Mozilla, you can right click and hit "view background image" and then you can right click and save it. </font>Originally posted by Michael Dorosh:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by GJK:
Did you do the graphic work for top.jpg on your site? Very nice. Also, neat tip about calling it from the .css so that you can't right click and copy it - hadn't thought of that one before.

That could be an intresting battle..Originally posted by Beta1:thats explains it!
Otherwise I would be buying a lot of 25pdr FOs for anti tank duty
Thnx for checking the data out..
It's so easy that these sort of bugs slips by..

The spelling mistake is fixedOriginally posted by Beta1:oooo just found another couple!!!!
The same 25pdr FO seems to have armor penetration values that look wrong (reported this one through the error link)
And theres a spelling mistake on the list of british equipment "assault gun"
And I will look in to the gun issue on arty's.
I think that i got it wrong with the links unit -> gun..
The 25pdr has a 88mm gun, and i linked it to the:
</font><blockquote>code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">88mm,Puppchen,Hollow,150,11,171,148,86,171,148,86,500m max
</pre>

I'm into that though to, some fields that users can fill in comments, tactics or something like that.Originally posted by Other Means:it might also be good to have a comment field where you can say "if you are fighting Germans in sept 44, their best armour deal is the Stug (model), this is the best counter".
-
First of all I want to thank all of you for the nice comments.
Hepp, missed that one. Should be fixed later this evening.Originally posted by JoachimWhat is missing is the availability dates - they are given for some ammo types, but not for the units.
Thanks that's great.Originally posted by GJKI'd like to go ahead and add your site to my reference area at The Proving Grounds if you don't mind, I'm sure scenario designers and playtesters will find this a valuable source.
And I hope that no one feels offended that I added
links on the site without asking the author first.
If that is the case I am sorry.
Just send a message to me and the links will go away.
Oups, code error. There was an error in one mysql query..Originally posted by Beta1:Looks good but there seems to be something up in the british FO department
Should be fixed now.
That would be a great feature, for the moment I fixed a little error report function on every units page.Originally posted by Other Means:his may be a lot of work but what about a content managment system for the data? as things are changed with patches or found to be false you (or whoever) could change the values with a web front end
My guess is that I made some typo's here and there, so if someone finds an error it's easy to report it..
But in the long run is the best solution a system that some users can edit the data itself.
(It's another question if I really can fix that, but at least I can give it a try.)
After the initial bug hunt I will continue to work on a uploading script for screen shots,
to take the place of the good looking N/A pictures.
