  1. Hi, for a while there has been a CMAKdb.

It is a DB with a PHP frontend, created with the help of Chris excel charts.

And in an discussion in the CMAK forum there was a wish to get the same for BB.

    And now it's finally "finished"..

Well it's an ongoing work, but now I think it has reach usable at least ;)

I hope that you find it useful..

    CMBBdb

    Regards Folke

  2. Thank you guys who makes the site alive!

And I plan to let i live until the community don't needs it any more.

I wrote some todo stuff in the suggestion forums.

But for the moment I relax and plays some pbem's

But soon the development shall pick up speed again.

There are some new stuff that Chris has looked up that shall be converted into the db.

And the arty delay shouldn't be so much work. (if we only stated for Regular units) i guess.

Perhaps I could put a form up for the cost that all who want's send in the cost for the units.

I think that it is doable, but I don't know if there is any interest out there to help out with the values?

    You know, (Swedish saying):

"Många bäckar små blir till en stor å" :D

If there is interest for that, I will immediately start on that script.

  3. Humm, this thread is starting to be quite long smile.gif

Well I trying to keep up to Wolfes exellent work with the excell charts.

But some more functions has been added.

Now we can write comments on both countries and categories.

And now you can discuss you favorite or worst units to. smile.gif

Could the list of units in the "main" part of the page be determined by dropdown menus instead of the click-to-expand links?

I'd like to be able to go from "US Support Mortars" to "British Support Mortars" just by changing the country through a dropdown menu, instead of all the way back to the top and down again...

    GaJ.

    Thanks.

I'm working on some filtering with dropdowns in the search page.

I think that there is going to be something like that over there.

For the time being try to search for the name in the search box.

    If you search for :

    mort fo

you get all the Forward Observers Mortars for example.

The search syntax isn't case sensitive.

Oups, is was me testing a comments script for

    countries and categories.

But at the test site I connected to the live db

    Well it's fixed now.

And, Thanks for all your screen shots and comments!

There's some links to CM related sites on the Resources page on this site.

I also have a Reference Area at The Proving Grounds where members can add their own links for anything that a CM player/designer might want or use.

That's just the thing I looked for!

I now stand with my "silly hat[tm]" on for not looking enough :(

The proving grounds reference is the place to use..

    Thanks GJK.

don't let it get in the way of playing mind.

The date filter should be doable, but

"best tank plus gun to counter best enemy tank at date".

Can you elaborate that a bit.

And, of course our games is priority

The gun has the correct HE stats but everything else needs ditching altogether. It is a 57mm/L50 and has the following ratings for penetration at 100m/500m/1000m/2000m:

    AP (APCBC shot) 823 m/sec.

    0 Degrees 131/117/101/80

    30 Degrees 100/90/78/63

    60 Degrees 46/43/38/31

    Tungsten (APCR shot) 1076 m/sec.

    0 Degrees 187/153/118/71

    30 Degrees 131/110/85/51

    60 Degrees 46/37/31/21

    Cheers.

Valentine updated. And together with that I saw a few more errors.

    There are 3 57mm 57/L50.

    57mm AT Jul43

    57mm AT Sep43

    Valentine X

And now I checked against CMAK again and now it should be correct.

    Thanx for the note.

A while back I went to the armoured museum in Saumur France. They have some excellent stuff there - including a King Tiger and a Panther in running condition. Had a day there with a mate - took 400 photos between us. As soon as I would out how to get them onto the net, I'll post a link.

If you would you could post them on the gallery on my site.

Yes it's the Tiger 131 that was restored.

    Pretty impressive piece of machinery.

Are there any interest to start such a page?

I can put up a page at a server where we can submit links..

There are few of OSS link management scripts out there.

    Maybe : WebSight

Edit: hrrm, should have checked that the program I looked at was Open Source. Another script selected smile.gif

    Amazon.com has it for $20.

There is another one for British and US armor but it is not as good. I don't know of a complete Soviet tanks book like these two. There are just different books on soviet T-34, KV-1, ect.

    From Amazon.

British and American Tanks of World War Two:

I bought this book because I was impressed by its counterpart on German armor. I was disappointed to notice that it doesn't live up to that standard. Where the 'German' book covered each version with technical data, this book often simply summed up all known versions, with a very brief description, often not even mentioning in service date (year) and production numbers. For example, the 24 pages long M4 Sherman section only contains 2 'technical' specification listings.... Same goes for the British Churchill tank section, only a single technical spec list. On the positive side are the sections on more obscure models and prototypes, almost all with illustration(s).

I've searched for a similar like

"Encyclopedia Of German Tanks...." for the Commonwealth.. ,but found none...

Perhaps this is the best one?

    Any suggestions out there?

[qb] This looks great. One feature I would love is the ability to compare units, that is pull up the stats for two or three units side by side on the screen. This would let you for example compare the differences between model varients or pull up vehicles from different sides to see how they match up.

Yup. That'd be Very Very Handy.

One thing that is always frustrating is not being able to reference your unit's capabilities compared to the enemy while in game. That is, having unit stats side by side for comparison.

    Thanks! </font>
