  1. Hi,

After some personal stuff I restarted working with the "cmx2db" again...

And now I'm slowly creating the info for the new CM:RT units.

My little question is that if someone out there had the kindness to help me out with some screenshots for the units.

Sadly I have not created the upload function yet..

But if someone would like to help, I happily can take the pictures by email :)

After that the most needed function is the "filter/search" stuff.

How about a simple spread sheet with all the info on one page. Makes it hella easier to compare units. Also include the price from the QB page, that would be helpful.

    Hi,

I don't know how to calculate the cost over time and experience.

That's why I didn't took the price in this stint..

But if someone out there know the formula for the price / unit..

    It's doable to add.

Bout the spreadsheet idea, I understand that you want it.

Perhaps I can make some sort of export in the future.

  3. I dunno if this is a shameless plug for my own page :)

But, perhaps this can be of some usage when looking up units before a game and ingame..

I just started it out, and it's really featureless so far..

It's a successor to my old (cmakDB/cmbbDB) that was lost in the "GREAT REALLIFE ADVENTURE"..

All the CM:BN info is included now.

    And I'm now focusing on:

    Roadmap page,

    "bug report" function,

    "send in screenshot" function..

    I think atleast :)

The design is really simple with mobile-first interface in mind..

  4. My biggest problem when choosing QB units is I cannot remember weapons of different vehicles. Especially German armored cars & HTs.

I'd like to see a list of just tanks or vehicles with type and weapon calibre. And with some vehicles I'm interested in how many passengers they can take and how big guns they can tow.

Like the https://www.wargamingwombat.com/list_units/2?type=vehicle but with "maingun" on the same row?

  5. What made the CM1 database useful was the ability to quickly compare two units and their relative firepower and in the case of vehicles, armor penetration and armor factors.

However, in CM2 things are not so cut and dried. So, I do question whether such detailed information would be that useful. For us oldies, we don't 100% need that data any more. But, for newbies a way of quickly and simply comparing units would be invaluable.

I am thinking along the lines of:

"M4 vs Tiger - Probability of M4 killing Tiger with: Frontal shot at over 500m - virtually impossible; Side shot - Average; Rear shot - Good"

ie: Something quite simple and basic. If you give too much info and it's complex, the database will not be useful to the people who actually need the database.

    Hi Erwin ,

Yes, when I made the cm1db'es it was easier to get/see the use of the data..

And the basic compare idea is great.

Is the data available somewhere, or do you think that the community can help out to fill in the data if the function is there?

  6. Hi,

Now when the Olympics is over and Sweden went up against Canada and lost..

Things can get back to usual :)

I am working on an "encyclopedia" for units and do forth on the different CMx2 games/modules.

The first try can be viewed here:

    http://www.wargamingwombat.com/

It is made with bootstrap as a frontend framework with "mobile first" in mind.

So that you can use you mobile/tablet to browse the site when picking your units.

Lots of things is still in "ToDo" but the basic is just in.

Only the "vehicle" category is filled with data.

And the gfx for the different "meters" are only the raw numbers..

    Any thoughts, ideas?

Just shout it out and perhaps it can be doable :)

  7. There is nothing like that in-game and I do not know of any 3rd party docs, unfortunately. BFC has said they intend to redo the QB editor at some point to include some unit information but it's anyone's guess when that may happen. My guess is not anytime soon.

Ah, then I hadn't missed anything atleast :)

But the stats that were on every unit ingame in CMx1, is that 'hidden' from the User in CMx2?

Or is it possible to collect the stats ingame and do a new "cheatcheet"?

QBs are the worst feature of CMx2. It's a disgrace.

    Oh, why so?

  8. 4000-what? Exactly.

I have a Haswell Laptop here with a 4600 Intel graphics and it actually is an astonishingly well doing chip driving a 1920x1080 display. Way better than what I was used to with laptop dedicated chips (low second digit nvidias and some quaddro garbage).

I can't try CMx2 on it, though, it's running Linux.

    Hi, again :)

I use Linux as a daily driver too, but I have GameOS on it for work relat...erh..well..you know :)

And when I read up on the specs, it says: Graphics - Intel HD Graphics 4000. (http://support.apple.com/kb/SP649)

But I can always try it out and see if it works..

  9. Well,

I'm starting to pick up steam to do a CMBN buy.

[EDIT] Well, bought and downloading now.. Could not wait  [/EDIT]

Othermeans woke my interest pick up CM again after almost half a decade plus..

When I checked out, my last post was from 2007.. :o

The thing is, I usually play on the laptop and it's a OSX thingie with the 3 big OS'es on it.

One as a daily driver, one for testing and one for... uhm games

I tried the demo and it works good under OSX but not in GameOS/Win8 on the little thingie..

But I have no other OSX compatible hw in the house, and my "gaming rig" has GameO/Win8 on it, so if I buy the OSX version I cannot play on the gaming rig and so forth...

So now to my question :P

Have anyone got this to work on a Intel HD4000 hw?

I can perhaps trade my MacBook Pro to another newer one with a HD4000, so that I can play on both computers.

Is is a lost cause, thoughts?

  10. Here is a modest set of bones for the Holidays. I can't really send anybody lumps of coal, so even the ones on our naughty list will get to enjoy these. Sorry for those on the good list. Life isn't fair, obviously!

Arrh, I was free for almost two years.

Free from all the WW2 PBEM's that made my life a living hell ;)

But now when I see this I fear the worst...

I must resist to.... Nah, what the heck..

This is the best that happened since CMAK was announced!

Well, time to add this forum to the daily visits again :)

Perhaps we can continue on a game soon, what do you say Other Means? :P

  11. Hi,

I just dropped in to ask a little question about a website a made for some time ago.

    cmak.jemian.com (cmakdb)..

The server that it was on crashed, ehm well one of my friends that was a co admin on that server killed all the /home/ catalogs on the server including the sites.

So my little question is, are there still someone out ther using the cmakdb and want it up again?

Or can I put it to rest in the backup smile.gif

  12. Michael Dorosh started a discussion about a wiki that was closely tied to this forum in this tread.

    http://www.battlefront.com/cgi-bin/bbs/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=9;t=019771

So we started to build up a wiki that looked like this forum, and with the help of a few dedicated people it has grown fast..

But to continue to grow and collect more information help is needed by you. Anyone willing to write about your favorite topic or just come with some nice ideas.

Join up to build "the" wiki for the CM community smile.gif

  13. Hi..

I'm sorry if this question has been asked before.

Is there going to be some kind of unit encyclopedia/register in the game.

I'm thinking if there is any idea to create a "CMx2 whatever name and place of the first module" database smile.gif

If you know or will tell that it, else time will show smile.gif

Something like the ol cmakdb but more user editable fields.

Where users can add the values on units an so on..

    Regards Folke..
