  1. At Dose it is out and for some reason they don´t show the prize because of that. Plan1 homepages don´t show the prize either which I find weird. I have seen the Anthology in Anttila too. Net.Anttila cannot find it but I saw it there like week ago. So go and check out your local Anttila  Even though I try to support small gamestores for the matter of quality. How about splitting the cost with your friend and he gets BO/BB and you get AK. He´ll have many years of gameplay just with those 2.

So yes it is available in Finland.

    Cheers

  2. It is also a game system limitation, I think snipers are programmed to stay very quiet under 150-200m (unless you order them to shoot manually, and then they die real quick because of Borg spotting)

IIRC conscript and greens will fire at closer ranges and die very quickly. Regular to elite don´t do stunts...I think there was a thread about elite, crack and veteran snipers refusing to fire if there is a chance to be spotted, even if given direct order to do so...but I could be wrong.

  3. I don't think steppe was common in Finland; a combination of tightly knit forest and grain fields is more realistic. Oh, and there's gotta be a lake and a couple of hay barns. [Cool]

    Correct.

The way I see steppe used in Finland is if the battle takes place in old winter war battlefield with moonscape craters, after being levelled by Russian arty. As in few years those areas are growing brush and high grass.

There are some meadows in between forests too but not that common. Also steppe could simulate livestock fields. So combined with brush I see the idea of steppe. Ofcourse random maps are a different story.

  4. The deciding factor is the optics. If there is a bonus then you will notice a significant difference in spotting. German PSW radio cars do not have such a bonus, while other german PSWs do.

If you have played any CMBB "pure armor" battles you notice a huge difference in spotting when comparing a t34 to a panzer. This is from the optics.

    Thanks guys

I just recently played a scenario where I managed to kill a T-34 from 1260m with PzIII 50mm L/60 taking few shots and then landing the AP round right on its side armour. That was a pure show of optics. That was the star moment of that scenario. After that I got a beat down as my opponent moved his armor closer...no match...I got brewed again and again.

Yep I did some research at cmbbdb and found out that I was somewhat on a wrong track with the radiocar optics thing. :(

Am I wrong that radiocars have better LOS than "normal" AFVs? I usually use them as scouts since they spot the enemy further away...or then it is just a feeling??? And they can fight back a little if they get into trouble. Not like Kûbelwagen sacrifice scouting.

  6. Hello and welcome to the world of CM Squad Leader

If you want another game going you can contact me. Just click the name to contact via email. Just let me know what kinda game you´d like to play etc. I prefer created scenarios over QBs. I don´t use pben helper but it doesn´t matter if you started to use it.

    Waiting for your reply smile.gif
