    Some scenarios I have made are claimed to be too hard, and asked to have reduced the ai skill levels. If I am making a scenario to be historical or semi-historical I tend to make as they were back in the days, which usually means very tough. As I personally don´t like walkthrough scenarios when the fun is just destroying the enemy. If I get a draw or minor vic I usually post them for playtest. If not tough I try to make scenarios with variable units that all have certain tasks so that the AI could be beaten, these have also been claimed to be boring or too hard as I guess some players just wanna charge the troops blindly ahead instead of making battlefieldlike commands with the units available at the terrain they are in. Like using on map mortars to take out entrenched gun positions etc.

    I guess these are the reasons I haven posted too many scenarios to TSD yet and I am learning my lessons as I haven´t been making scenarios for release that long time. I have tried to listen and learn from other designers and playtesters of variable skill levels and come to a simple result. Designers just cannot please everyone. That ultimate scenario is somewhere out there that works every way possible.. tongue.gif

    As I think I have gotten pretty good reviews for my fictional stuff I am getting into the world of trying to make a good historical battle. As I still tend to pick battles that somehow draw my attention I can only hope someone likes them.

    I have also found out that people like to play H2H more than against AI..correct me if I am wrong..so multiople playtesting is mandatory to get into somehwat enjoyable results for playing H2H. If one creates a challenging battle against Ai it is 99% sure that it is just tyoo easy for the other player in H2H.

    Just my 1.5 cents from my short career as a designer. This is one good topic for discussion and I agree mostly on the things said by Simovitch Fred and J2D. Thanks to you guys my designing has gone from bad to little better ;):D :cool:

  2. If you want to practise conscript and green troops against regular and veteran play the russians on any of the allied attacks in VC Vuosalmi campaign. In the end quantity overruns quality. Hard hard fighting in tough conditions. Played the whole campaign tcp/ip-pbem, the tide was turned about half way into it and the quantity started to make a difference. Frustrating but revarding.

    Anyone heard from Paco QNS lately? We were moving along pretty well for a while but I haven't heard form him in days...

    Last 3 turns from him I received from him arrived 3/4/05, 3/8/05 amd 3/9/05 so he is active as far as I know :cool:

  4. Try removing the combat mission BB/AK prefs from the game folder. Re launch the game and pick the correct resolution. If this don´t help remove them again and install the driver that they used to work. Hope this helps.

    EDIT to add: if these don´t work Start/Run/dxdiag should show if the new driver did something wrong to your system or something

  5. GaJ and everyone using the new McMMM.

    By GaJ's request, I have uploaded a Normandy mod set to cmmods to be used with McMMM and its new abilities to automatically DL the needed mods etc. Note this modset is not combination of bmps but a mcs file for McMMM.

    I don´t know all the technicalities, so I hope it works for you. It is a combination of many great mods with a little CMBO looks in it too. It also includes Ardennes modset from CMBO and new CMAK wintermods so it should be a good set for NW Europe winter battles too. I really hope it works. Let me know

  6. Check for new drivers? Those new drivers usually solve many things, or in some cases you have to look for olderones. Hopefully someone with better info helps you out if the problem is not slved.

    If new driver doesn´t help do DxDiag and see if everything is running smoothly?

  7. AFAIK the answer is no. Offcourse you can shoot them by your self and score "tons" of minus points. Idea of using trucks doesn´t slow down the infantry and other vehicles are only sloved down by them. If you are making a scenario you can make a note to the briefing that the roadblock represents piled up broken trucks etc.

  8. To unbog these tricks are the only ones that have workrd for me. Rotate 90 to 180 degrees, or reverse the AFV back the direction it came from. I have ran tests on pushing bogged vehicles in CMBB/CMAK and so far have not been able unbog that way...usually get the other tank bogged too. When the vehicle is immobile nothing can save it.
