  1. There's an ongoing campaign that I'm part of. It just got underway last month. There's a shortage of players for the Soviet side so there's a big probability that the GM's might be able to squeeze you in if you're interested. I'm a late-comer myself. Combat Mission Meta Campaign 2
  2. I totally agree! Played both Shogun and Medieval Total War for a couple of years and I thought I would never get tired of them......until I discovered CM! Used to be eagerly anticipating the release of Rome: Total War, but with CM I don't care any more. The way the TW series combined the strategic and tactical levels has so far been unsurpassed in my book. It would be great if CM could have the same thing.
  3. Interesting screenshot. Is there a "Simpsons" MOD for CM out there that I don't know about?
  4. Another way is to click on the enemy unit. If there is a red line going from it to your unit, then it can definitely see you because it is firing at you. If you click your unit that you think might be whithin LOS of an enemy unit, there will be a yellow line. Hope that made sense.
  5. Glad to be of help, mate! Now how about a game....... ?
  6. Try this place too..... Blitzkrieg Wargaming Club
  7. My Grandfather was a captain in the Philippine Constabulary. Fought in the Battle of Bataan. Captured by the Japanese along with thousands of other Filipino and American POW's who were made to do the infamous "Death March" from Bataan to Tarlac. Managed to escape along the way and joined the USAFFE guerillas. Was captured again and tortured. He died in the dungeon of Fort Santiago along with hundreds of other prisoners when it was flooded with water from a nearby river during a heavy downpour. (they all drowned) His brother was a decorated Philippine Scout who survived the war and also served in Korea. He later settled in the US where he died at a ripe old age.

  10. I've been playing some scenarios where vehicles have to stick to the roads most of the time. Lots of vehicles + winding roads = a migraine from organizing convoys and having to plot movement orders for each individual unit! Micromanagement hell! Despite this, I did enjoy said scenarios because they presented tactical challenges that get the gray matter working. I was thinking, wouldn't it be great if the next CM had something like a "follow vehicle" command for vehicles? Just plot a movement order for the lead vehicle (along a road, perhaps) and then issue "follow" orders to the rest of the convoy. Result: the whole convoy would then follow the same waypoints. Is this possible? "Blitzkrieg" by CDV had something like this and it would be great if CM had it too.
  11. Hi! Personally, I never replay my turns. I try to approach the game as a real commander would approach a real battle. If something bad happens to my troops as a result of my errors in judgement.....TOUGH! I take it on the chin and just assess what went wrong so I can try not to do it again in the future. I would'nt enjoy it if my opponent had the luxury of replaying turns that did'nt go "his way". Why should I do the same? I play this game because I find it very stimulating.......mentally. Don't get any wrong ideas folks! Replaying my turns would spoil the challenge and the learning experience for me. In a nutshell, the way I look at it is learn from your mistakes and try to do the best you can with what you have.
  12. Hey! I'm from Quezon City in the Philippines too! Still don't have the game though. Only the demos (all 3!). Still saving up........
