  1. For those who want to drive about in one of those marvelous tanks themselves, try Panzer Elite. A truly FANTASTIC game, if a bit too much of a simulator. Im still shocked by how vulnerable the King Tiger appears to be...
  2. I'm no H'expert but I reckon these are ranging shots. Far as I know, even until maybe late 70's/early 80's, The Chieftain MBT had a 0.5 inch ranging rifle alongside its main cannon. Plus - they could be trying to rattle the enemy crew, maybe give themselves an extra second or two to knock them out with their main gun. Smash periscopes, maybe get that lucky shot into an opening? 3. Hmmm....no one..... Sounds like it might actually be fun then to do this...
  4. Just thought I should ask this one prior to rushing off and doing this myslef - BUT has anyone heard of or done a Cross Of Iron Scenario or Operation? Since I got this game I have wanted to model the factory battle and possibly the escape from behind Russian lines. Sorry, its probably my favourite film...
  5. Im new to here too - nothing mandatory just all choice mods and new graphics files. Best place appears to be http://www.cmmods.com All the best.
  6. So after the battle you can check the kills and Fog Of War is removed revealing the true casualties caused by the unit?
  7. Thanks these look great, though Id seen Achtung Panzer before - also http://www.panzerdeisel.com is pretty good too (sorry if that doesnt work, its from memory a few months back at least) - but its things like armour thickness, weapon ranges etc Its RPGing this time - did Wargaming years ago. I run a WWII RPG in which players are grunts involved in the conflict on a fairly small unit scale - I've even at one stage used CMBO to run an engagement just to see how it turned out. I need the stats to run ever more accurate sessions! thanks for the help OOPS http://www.panzerdiesel.com Actually, now I've looked into the wwiivehicles site - its fantastic!! Just what I needed!! GREAT!! Thanks a million! [ December 04, 2003, 10:28 AM: Message edited by: Mirv Sheelon ]
  8. Anyone know any good links to stats on the WWII hardware and stuff? I am a budding RPGer too and would appreciate any stuff like this. Thanks.
  9. LOL Toilet reading!! I thought I was the only person who read game manuals whilst...
  10. Im just glad that game seem to have the copies - have to go in on Thursday and get mine - I asked a few weeks back and the spotty teenager (no offence to those BTW) looked at me as if I'd come in wearing full Totenkopf regalia. And said he didnt know anything about it at all. I'd love to be able to just walk in and get myself a copy as my Xmas pressie to me from me!
  11. Sorry but I have to add this - apparently - genuine WWII saying, and again sorry that I cant quote my source - Im pretty heavily into WWII and its in one of the myriad books I've read. Here goes: "When the British fly over, the Germans duck. When the Germans fly over the Allies duck. When the Americans fly over EVERYBODY ducks..." Not a reflection at all on the main culprits, but what can I say Found *something* http://www.crikey.com.au/columnists/2003/02/02-suiteachmilitary.html Check out the bottom line...
