  1. Quite interesting posts, but In terms of how I play it really boils down to what side I am playing. The Russians really do lend themselves to attritionist tactics. This is especially true with their infantry, they are cheaper than most and the human wave tactic works wonders. But when I play as either CW or American I really try and manuver and conserve my forces. Their flexible and cheap artillery makes it really easy to sit back and let it do most of the work.

  2. Russia is cheap, even Moscow is if you know what you are doing. I stayed in a hotel that was the former Olympic village for 40 bucks a night. It was clean, quiet, safe and right next to the metro. Also, eating out is about the same as most vacationy places I have been to. The confusion is that people expect Russia to be dirt cheap so when the find food and stuff that is the same price they would pay at home they think it is expensive. But their visas are really expensive, but definetly worth it to go there.

  3. But seriously, Russia is rather safe to travel if you have your wits about you. Nothing to crazy if you have travelled abroad. I was there this summer and was pleasantly surprised how easy and modern most things were. Now travelling within Russia gets a little rougher but since Volgagrad is major city this makes it totally doable. Hoping to get there in the next couple of years myself.

  4. Thanks for the help. I have no problem advancing against the Italians, but then again who does? But what about advancing against the Germans? The British tanks cannot take on the AT guns at range and the in the desert the infantry can't get close enough. I find the tanks just sit and wait for the artillery to show up, which by that point what's the use of a tank anyways?

  5. I need some tips on how to best advance as early war British. Their lack of HE rounds is really frustrating. Do I just wait forever as I call in the artillery/motars? They even suck at taking out infantry in cover. I understand the British thought that tank guns were for taking out other tanks, not people but after the first engagement is it not obvious you need HE rounds? I would like to know who the genius was behind not delivering HE rounds to the British and give him him a parting prize.

  6. On a similar topic I would like to see some battles of the Italians in CMBB. I have played the ones already in the cd but I cannot understand how they were able to advance more than 5 miles across the Russian border. A platoon of conscript T-26 can hold the Italians for a bit and forget a T-34. So how were the Italians able to get so far into Russia? Did they only fight against infantry?

  7. How do you attack/advance when under fire from AT guns in bunkers at range? I can easily attack at close range by flanking them but at long range these things are rough. Artillery does nothing and a huge smoke screen would not last long enough and leave areas where they coulf still fire. What do you tend to do?

  8. Taken from Battlefront.com "Other vehicles, such as the Soviet BMP series have the troops back to back facing outboard. They also provide each soldier with a periscope, an environmentally sealed and waterproof firing port, brass catcher, and gas vent. Neat little things... snap right onto the side of an AK and you're good to go!"

    hmmmmm........Cold war scenarios?

  9. My addition to this thread:

    1)Convoy system

2)Ability to control smoke motars on the tanks.

3)Ability to play the movie of an entire battle from beginning to end.

4)Start game with troops and commanders grouped together. I am talking about the fact that when to start a game and have to set troops up, they all stand in a line and you have to manually find the troops and comander and group them together.

    5) A Campaign system

  10. Two nights ago I was playing a night QB against the Finnish AI. My OT-34 pulls up to engage a BT-7 and uses a flame shot to take out the tank frontally, he did'nt even bother using the main gun. I thought that was pretty awesome of the AI to select the flamethrower rather than the cannon to take out tanks. Never thought that would happen unless I manually ordered it to do that. Flamethrowers at night are very awesome!
