  1. Unfortunately I´m not able to upload any preview picture here, but it´s available at CMMODS. Fall grain will follow within a couple of days. It´s hi-res, but I don´t think it will be too demanding. I´ve used the default doodads. It´s not a "flash bang" mod in any ways, more of a subtle, kind of relistic looking one, IMHO.

Try it and see what you think.

  2. Hi,

I own a quite powerful graphics card at the moment, a MSI FX5900 128 MB. But the question is, would an upgrade to FX 5900 256 MB be worth the money?

I´d myself would generally say no on this one, but then again, I thought that maybe it would make a difference when using all these HI-RES MODS. Because the size of textures, at least theoratically, affects the graphics card if it has insufficient texture memory, right?

So, the question repeated then: would I perhaps benefit from a card with a larger amount of memory?

  3. Wait and see, I will slowly turn this game into a Britney spears' dance game :D

And about the size and resolution. Yes, I know. I will see what I can do about it. Just don´t have the time right now. I´m involved in a lot of CMMOS modding too. And I can´t let MikeT down, you know. And to really tell you the truth, I´m not sure either on how to successfully convert it to lo-res. You see, I just play around without full knowledge on how graphics truly works. It´s a miracle everytime I succeed in doing anything at all. ;)

ANYONE who knows what he or she is doing have my full permission to alter my mod so it goes better with not so powerful videocards.

    Regards

  4. Earthy open ground posted at CMMODS. I have been so bold so as to modify and post StrontiumDog's CMBO grass mod.

I do not know if StrontiumDog is still active at the forum and with the game, but anyway, SHOULD YOU DISLIKE MY ALTERATION AND THE INITIATIVE TO ALTER IT, I WILL REMOVE IT FROM CMMODS IMMEDIATELY.

With that said, if anyone here should be interested in trying out the mod, please give some feedback here. Sometimes it´s hard to see the truth when you´re in the middle of it. But do mind that it affects gameplay on large maps. It shouldn´t be any problem on small and medium ones. ;)

  5. Hmm. At first I was a bit afraid that I wouldn´t get any real support on this issue, because I thought that those that has the know how would be too occupied with their own work to really care about a someone that hasn´t yet come up with anything and moreover hasn´t yet got a good clue to be able to. BUT-I apologize.

Thank you for your supportive answers. As soon as I have the time I will investigate the proposed options ;)

  6. Thanks for your input!

Yes, Zimerodok did that, but I think they´re Paintshop Pro. I will have to get that program first and learn it.

What I really wanted to do, because I figured it would be reachable, was to do a nice series of whitewashed/wintercamo Sdkfz 250/251. I have been on this for a while, testing various ways to achieve this. I have a fair perception of how to add weathering and scratches and so, but on the other hand, there´s a lack of "punch" in the finish, probably because I´m not aware of techniques I should be aware of.

I guess I have to waste a little more time of my life, doing the trial and error. :D

  7. Greetings,

I think I´ve been on this before, asking for some advice on modding.

Now, this concerns vehicle modding, and the problem is:

All I want to do, is producing nice vehicles. tongue.gif If only I could now come past the first obstacles, which now seems to be a good and methodical way to create templates to work from. I used to do some skinning in IL2 Sturmovik, and in creating templates and skins there, I used a plug-in called Mac´s remove white. That one, if remembered correctly, did just that, and left me with only the outlining under which I could then roam freely with the brush. Problem in CM is that there is a lot of colour, not only white, so it doesn´t work. (would need a remove colour ;) )

To shorten this a little-could any of you give me some hints or recommend any available plug-ins that would help me get going? I don´t ask you to reveal your secrets...

Or alternative, is there a way to convert PSP templates to Photoshop ones?

I hope this doesn´t sound stupid or naiv.

    Regards Gurra
