  1. well time for another noob question :D

As i'm not a native english speaker and have no prior knowledge of tanks than through games

i keep wondering about this term:

    copula

what is it? it seems to be something where crewmembers sit in but that all i can figure out

Do tanks go into battle with a loaded main gun?

Or do they wait until their first target to load the correct ammo HE/AP. Or do they go in with AP loaded and use it to shoot the first thing they see. And how does CM models this?

Thanks in advance and Happy New Year

  2. Let me explain. My point was that relying on watching films to decide how powerful or effective a particular tank is (in this case the Tiger) is a mistake. Watching a film and then expecting an 'accurate' wargame to respond in the same way that the film does is a mistake.

Fighting at night in the woods with a heavy tank against flamethrower units is a mistake.

Expecting the Tiger to become anything except a substantial barbecue under these conditions is a mistake.

I hope I've made myself a bit clearer now.

I understood you loud and clear the first time, my good man, was just bored so i decided to post for fun. Tis a strange concept i know, you should try it sometime :D
  3. Were they widely available these HEAT rifle grenade if you don't mind me calling them that, or were they rarer than the maus...

And the molotov gave the biggest rush of them all,

maybe that's why the ruskies stuck with them, after all these were the people who gave name to a twisted and deeply disturbing version of roulette :D .

  4. But I was disapointed to not see the US rifle grenades. Maybe they weren't that much, but they were essentially the same warhead as a bazooka, and could be used to great effect as 'door knockers' in towns.

    Something i don't understand:

why did they bother with the bazooka while the rifle grenade were essentially the same warhead.

Or is "essentially the same" not "the same" if you know what i mean.

  5. It ain't so!

You really need to learn to quote better!!!

Truth be told, Squad Assault is probably the best-looking, strategic-level World War II game to date. The uniforms, equipment, and weapons are convincingly accurate as are the accompanying sound effects. In this regard, this title outdoes even Combat Mission for all-out realism.
