0% infantry
100% Easy
LOL
It should really be 0.1% infantry but we know Aussies can't handle fractions..

You supply the guns, tanks and ships. We'll supply the booze.

Isn't their dole higher than ours? Come over so I can chuck my job in..

Time to implement is the only issue here, not technical limitations. In fact, what you suggested is how it will work when we eventually allow user placement of trenches. Why? Because it's the most simple way to do it. Basically, the player would do something like color the tiles he wants to have fortified and this information would be incorporated into the terrain mesh for the game to follow. There would be no problem with Campaigns since this same UI could be used for both. Having it packed into the existing SetUp Phase would likely (though not for sure) introduce other problems, hence why I think a separate "fortification phase" would be the way to go.Originally posted by Normal Dude:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by Battlefront.com:

Hmmmm....They.Just.Don't.Get.It..

How about a rewind to the last pause?(or even rewind a minute of action) Since that is what basically happens now with WEGO isn't it?

it's a more polite way of saying f*** off..

That would have been Ssnake of Esim Games over at SimHQ.This is the thread you're after.I am pretty sure when CM:SF first came out a game developer posted on the forum saying he knew how to improve shadowing using some sort of filtering technique. I've searched the forums but can't seem to find the original post. Do you remember reading this? I thing there must be something BFC can do with the code to smooth out these shadowing problems, even if the drivers are fundamentally at fault. -
It could be related to video card memory. What are your card specs metalbrew?

Well, if BFC get a defence contract from this game, you can be sure it will be the first thing the military ask for as they'll need an AAR feature.

Cheers COG, great to see the old place again. It's been a while for me

Well, at least Pluto will be a major planet again..Originally posted by Michael Emrys:That's neat. But when we get back to WWII, will the planets be in their proper positions for that year and date?

Cheers for the recommendation, I've chucked both Design Patterns and OOAD on my wish list, I'll get them when I've got some dough...

Oh god yes , wearing a helmet in a 113 was mandatory, one decent bump and you went flying into the ceiling, then when you came down,if you were up front, you'd scrape your shins on the TC's foot platform..Originally posted by Battlefront.comI've heard more than a few M113, Bradley, and AAFV dismounts complain about how bad the ride is over open terrain. Puking, bruising, bad air quality, etc. are just some of the things I've heard.

Arrived here in NZ today.

Welcome to the forums Some nice ideas there, I like the codes one, one way you could do this is allow your units to use the AI plan for the scenario.

If you read the entire thread you'll know...

LOL, reminds me of my first morning in Turkey waking up with a hangover to the call to prayer blaring from the mosque across the road. And, Bradley Dick, how can you get tired of "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhuuuuu akbar" repeated at maximum volume on the mosque PA at 0345? -
That 30 second turn idea is a really good one and with the way wego is implemented with the real-time engine it shouldn't be too hard to implement.Maybe give us options to make a turn 30 ,45, 60 seconds?Originally posted by Hoolaman:* 30 second turns. It is still arbitrary, but considering the modern setting and the slightly less versatile WEGO system 60 is to long.

From what I understand from Steve, the CMx1 code has almost no commenting.Charles probably hasn't even touched the code in couple of years so he'd have to spend quite a bit of time just re-learning it.

It's pretty sad when the header is almost as big as the chart and you don't even have to scroll to see the entire organisation.
