You might also want to look at these books which contain some usefull CM level tactics. All are published by Motorbooks Fighting Techniques of a Japanese Infantryman 1941-1945 by Leo Daugherty Fighting Techniques of a Panzergrenadier 1941- 1945 by Matthew Hughes Fighting Techniques of a U.S. Marine 1941-1945 by Leo Daugherty Unfortunently no soviet book as of yet. I do not own any of these books as of yet, althow will be purchasing at least the pansergrenader one in the near future. I thumbed through the panzer grenader one at the book store the other day and saw some things in it that looked usefull for CM. you might also look into various personal acounts from lower level officers in the war for a few strategy tidbits here and there on the battalion and company level. However like the ealeyer posts on this topic have already stated most books by high level officers are dealing with tactics that exceed the CM level. So I will not go off on my surgested book list on those many of which ahve already been mentioned. best thing to do is go to your local book store a dig through the Military history section book by book. I do this allot anyways just because I have been studying the german army durring WWII for quite some time.

Thanks for all the usefull info that is one big draw back of buying some of those anti tank mechanised battalions. because you get a slew of atr with them. however if they can be ussed effectivly as scouts which is somthing i ahvent ever tired it would make these battlion purchases more attractive. too bad they dont have the semi auto or automatic modification in CM that could be allot of fun with a 14 mm shell but I do intend on trying out this recon idea. So we will see how it goes. as far as prisnors on the eastern front the life expectancy of prisnors held by eather side was not verry long. many prisnors were eather hanged or shot shortly after their captivity began. So most soldiers from both sides ussaly fought to the death if at all possible.

what is the use of anti tank rifles? they dont seam to do anything to any tank i have come across they might work on light armour or half tracks but sombody using light tanks is rare. everytime i have aimed a anti tank gun at even panzer 2 the chance of kill is :none odd thing is they are extreamly common in some battalion intantry groups they seam to ahve like 12 of em.

best thing to hunt tigers with is pioneer plattons. with good leadership. 2 sqauds and a leader attacking the side of any tank is enough to take it out

ehhhhhhhhhhhh? I have no idea i am not shure what he is complaining about.....lol is he complaining because CM AK is not a intire new engine, or is he complaining about having to pay 35 bucks for getting the Medeterainian theater into CM eather way it makes no sense i guess. here is some facts Fact, CM BO was a great game Fact, Althow CM BB used the same game engine as CM BO it is a extreamly improved engine. Fact, not only is it a improved engine it also added the Eastern front to the world of combat mission. Fact, most add ons cost 35 dollers. (so if you dont want the add ons or dont feel they are worth it dont buy them) Fact, CM AK will be using the same engine as CM BB what inhancements have been made to it I really dont know but it will add another theater to the world of CM. and it wont go back to to what we see in hind sight as a almost laughable armour system of CM BO. Fact, CM BO was worth every penney Fact, CM BB was worth every penney My bet is that CM AK will follow suite and be worth every penney Fact CM BB and CM AK are not add ons to CM BO they are stand alone games. None of share space with each other now nore will they after CM AK is relased All I know is I love Combat Mission and I i will gladly pay to get another installment of it.

Best way to get oponents to play with is to join a ladder and then email members on the ladder asking them to play with you. I usaly play by email myself as do most players on the ladders.

Wow that is insainly slow. Sounds like to me that one of two other things is the problem. 1. Not running a decant 3d graffics card. 2. Running tons of junk in the background. What graffics card are you using ? If you have tongs of stuff running in the background you might wanna turn as much of it off as possible. If the problem is with running apps in the background I think youl find that your computer runs better and faster nomatter what aplication you are trying to use, If remove unecissary apps from the start up menue.

it could be the direct x version you are using if its not up to date. Are you using a Diferant Vid card than you usied with xp ?

I fixed it. I think i have come to a conclution of what the problem was. I had a friend of mine bring his copy over and i did a fresh install off of his disc. Problem solved. I think My Disc aquired some kinda of dammage in manufacturaing or who knows where because it is not vissable on the disc. prolly a microscopic hole in the silver layer of the disc. I used to work at a record store and i did run across a few cds while there that had no visable dammage but had errors in them. i have seen only once or twice thow where it was a individual disc. usaly it will be the intire run of discs that are that way. Anyways Tommorow i am gonna go exchange my disc for antoerh copy of CM BO SE since i havent even had it a week. i can still exchange it at the store. I dont run any firewall, virus scanners or mouse modifications. so it couldnt be that. The join multiplayer functions work just fine. I did however knotice while messing with it sommore and comparing it too CM BB which works perfectly for me through and through. that i had made a mistake in the diagnosses of the problem its not that the other otions except for single player are not necisarily uinfunctional after setting up a game etc. the exact problem is that when i leave the quick battle set up screen or the scenario selection screen the single player is already selected with out me doing anyting. and is stuck on it and the mouse will not change the selection. Sorry i didnt knotice that detail tell just now. anways i am still jsut as bafflled what is causing it every other interface sceen works just fine to the best of my knollege and like i said b4 i have been playing CM BB with abolutly no problems at all I apriciate all the help, maybe the revsion of the exact symtoms will give you more of a idea what is going wrong taht i have missed i ahve read everything i can find as far as trouble shooters etc. and i havent seen this mentioned anywhere....................lol the suport boards are always my last ditch effort in fixing things. in other words i have eather just complety missed somthing here, or i am at the end of the line as far as far as things i know and have read . thanks again for the help.

It is installed in the default location. C:\Program Files\CMBO Yes both the directorys are there. No I have not patched it. like you said its already patched to the current version out of the box.
