WITTMANN :mad:Originally posted by Spindry69:I was lead to believe that tank pivoting was used in combat. In fact that it was a speciality for the German tank ace Whittman, but it was done sparingly because the pivot built up soil around the tracks thus risking throwing a tread.

There's a new picture of a CM:SF US mortar team in the latest Armchair General magazine.

Take you Michael Moore politcal drivel to a different forum </font>Originally posted by David Chapuis:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by MikeyD:
I also like the strategic use of the term 'regime'. Couldn't possibly refer to the Assad 'presidency' or the Assad 'government', could we? Maybe we should start referring to the 'Bush Regime' while we're at it. After all, both got their jobs due to links with their daddies, with the assistance of powerful Saudi financial backers, and hold onto power through unscrupulous behavior.

I was one of the first to enquire about mortars - was disappointed with the answer - but life goes on - ditto with building, TC's etc. It was the same when CM:SF was announced and was not WW2. Some seem to take it very personally - I guess I just can't grasp the gravity of the situation

No, so does that mean I should better shut my trap, because I don't know what I am talking about - then please close this forum, as not very many members will have played it yet and therefore would be not qualified to any posts here.Originally posted by wolf66:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by Melnibone:

The first point is a good one. As for the hardcore - well it seems a number of CM players have already seen\played it and liked it. What comes across in the comments from BFC - is that despite some of the omissions - it's still a great game. I'm quite prepared to believe them for now unti I get my hands on it.Originally posted by ComradeP:The problem with a game like ToW (basically one of a kind) is that it's probably to complicated for the general RTS crowd, whilst it might not be good enough for the hardcore wargamers (not the might).

1. They deserve to be mocked if they go and on about the same point. Especially when they make swweping generalisations like...well like youOriginally posted by ComradeP:In fact: I'm surprised people that want more realism are actually mocked on these forums. It's like all the people that claim to have played and to love CM or CC actually on like "wargame light" games. Why do you moan about CM or CC not including something, when you're OK with major ommissions in other games, such as this one?
2. They do moan about CC and CM. The difference being those games have been released and they have actually played them.
3. Nobody is "OK" with omissions. But see 2. If having played the demo the omissions are too severe I will not buy the game. Life will go on.

You must be new to these forumsOriginally posted by ComradeP:If all the trees in the game would look exactly the same, nobody would moan probably...

The Sims is excellent for the usage of buildings - unfortunately those developers also left out mortars  - so I refuse to play it. I have littered their forum with complaints but they just laugh at me.
